your own creativeness

well, if it's a sketch...........try to draw the hair first.....down to the other parts..........then the eyes would be the last to be drawn

Also if your particularly good (at your opinion) at drawing certain things exp... hair, eyes, animals, rocks, etc... keep on drawing them until everybody who sees it gives you a thumbs up for it... then after work on another thing to be good at. Take it one piece at a time and you'll work through it. My classmate added the severed head... thought it was funny.

I am a design major so illustrating is essential for me. If you want to become good I recommend carrying a sketchbook with you all the time and use it as much as you can. Also look at the different eras of art from art deco to art nouveau to baroque. Art nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha is an inspiration of mine, which I provided three of his many famous works. You can kind of see a subtle influence in my unfinished illustration I used for my profile picture. Also do not be afraid to experiment a bit and use different styles. I try to mix it up a bit when doing different sketches as you may seen in my two recent super quick sketches of an automobile and my idea of a conventional boot with some 'futuristic' aesthetics.

Learn a bit about the different papers, pencils, pens, and markers you can use. Getting familiar with programs like Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus.

Idk. I just decide on which part to start first and go from there. But some people use shapes in the beginning to sorta help them like in a lot of drawing books. It kinda does help though.

For some reason I always start with the eyes or hair. I normally start off looking at a picture at first though before I come up with my own.
