I always thought it was 10% < and unless the service is crappy or he/she has a bitchy attitude, that's how much of a tip I leave.

It depends on where you are, I tip a flat rate of 20% no matter what, but when I go to Korea, I don't tip at all.

Normally tip everyone, because they're all worth it.

No one tips me, once again I'm in Ireland, so I guess us Irish are fairly scrooge-ish!

Irish aswell... Don't tip unless I'm thoroughly impressed by the service. Hate when places stick on a gratuity, should be included in the price of the food!

Where's my change?

Usually, if you want to tip and you are afraid that your tip which you really meant from the heart was too little and people might laugh, you may want to put your tips into a small envelope, in separate amounts.

I stay in Singapore so the usual tips are from SG$4 and above for average restaurants so I keep envelopes of SG$4, $6, $10, $15 in different pastel coloured envelopes.

I ask for the waiter/waitress's name and I write it on the envelope, while insisting that the tips goes only to the specified person.

(Since we have something called 10% service charge here, all tips are usually shared among all staff unless specified and approved by manager.)

and I usually have a default note to say:

"thanks for your excellent service and attention, if you did not get your tip, call me at ******** "

So if she didn't get the tip she'll call and I'll yell at the manager.
And though it may not be a big tip, she'll be really happy.

Of course, but she wouldn't be too pleased, last time I did that all the drinks went all over the place and I was kicked out. XD

Nah seriously he usually tips between £2 - £5...See, they even get tipped £2 if the service was totally lousy...Else I feel like an asshole.
