The Omote episode was meant to be funny.

Yeah exactly just because the first episode is funny but isn't a bleach from the start doesn't mean the anime is gay. Thats your opinion >_> I'm glad that it started out funny and quirky. Making it attract my attention and stick to the anime. Still Blassreiter is suppose to be pretty sweet =P |

If you visit the official site, you'll see that each episode has an Omote and Ura episode, each broadcasted differently.
The one on CR right now is the Omote. I watched the Ura ep1 on NicoDou, and it shows what happened while Jill was dreaming, the leet arrow skillz, the golf magic, still quite funny, just not as ridiculous as the Omote ep1
I could upload the raw, I guess, if CR isn't going to show it..

ok, no subs though, and it'll also have to go through the mods. oh well, no harm in trying.
EDIT: done, up to the mods now, I still think it's best if CR can get the Ura eps subbed from Gonzo though.

Hrm... the whole concept here is to offer a competing solution to fansubbed anime? I hope this will succeed because studios can open another revenue stream. So, I think trading DVD revenue with online downloadable version is not the goal here.
Regardless, the format that the HQ downloadable version is : 854 x 480 with codec = Xvid
On the other hand, if I download a high quality raw file, it is : 1280 x 720 with codec = DX50
The difference is big enough that I can't read the credit at the end from HQ downloadable version, while the credit from the raw is crisp and clear. The characters in the credit is small enough that I highly suspect that they are designed for HDTV. So, 854 x 480 is not good enough anymore.
So, maybe this is something can be looked into in the future?
I have to agree with you, my only point was the cinema part. Where your point applies more or less the same.

Great release for a very funny and so far promising show, the translation quality seemed very good to me. My props to Gonzo for having the guts to come out and try something like this for us. I hope its successfull for them and gets more anime companies to follow suit. My only main criticism so far is, the subtitle track is WAAY to low down on the video, sure its fine for watching on your computer screen, but when I stream the full quality download of the episode to my 37" HDTV it clips off the bottom half of the text and Im sure it would do this to most other TV's as well  . If the people who encode the episode are reading this please consider putting the subtitle track a bit higher up into the video please! |
