That phrase is referring to the point of life. Even though we need money in order to buy the basic commodities needed for survival, money isn't the point of why we live. It is this gross redirection of priorities that causes greed, corruption, poverty and all the shit we experience in modern society.

As an example, money can buy you all the food you can give to your children so that they can grow up to become healthy and strong, but no amount of money will suffice for the love and nurturing care that comes from being a good parent. You can't buy your way out of this one.

but all our lives,we study hard from young so that we can go to college or university to get a good pay job.in the end,what is it for?for money.some ppl work from morning till night.what for?for money.many ppl in my country majored in courses such business,medicine and engineering but most i heard r more interested in the pay.those who attented education fair,the 1st thing they asked were 'can this job make money in the future?'

Haha, good point.

Yes having something I like does make me feel 'happy' but it's NOT happiness.

The Definition of "Happiness" is very subjective its many things to many people. You probably wouldn't gather the same definition if you were too asked 50 different people (although im sure most if not all of them would include lots of money as one of the requirements.)

Jesus easiest rebutle ever...

Your able to point out one person...but think of the thousands of people who kill themselves because they dont have enough money for things.

OK so lets see here money hmm its pretty damn fun to have money but yet id rather it if this were the old days back where you could kill someone for what you want and then you wouldent need money and just walk around the planet doing what you want yep but if we consider now days well then

money will make me very very happy so as to the happiness thing you are all talking about id say yes money can buy true happiness all you need to do is not let anyone know you have money dress normal drive a normal or crappy car find a girl if she likes you or what not only after the fact that you trust her and youve been dating her for some time now then tell her about your money and then you will have all the happiness you need so yes money can buy true happiness

money= true happiness

Money is not everything, however, it's still important because it sometimes buys more freedom and options. I think that it's sad how people have to depend on money so much, and I think many people have to spend too much time working. My hope for the world someday is that we won't have to be so dependant on money, and that we will have more free time from work, so that we may get even more chances to enjoy life.
