When people say things like "money can't buy happiness, true friendship and love"
well yeah, maybe that's true,
but in which life would you be more inclined to have happiness and all that other stuff?
a life where you're dirt poor and constantly having to meet dead ends or where you have a stable income and can support your family in peace?

it's all fine and dainty to say "money isn't everything," and "happiness can be found in even the poorest of places,"
but honestly,
if money isn't everything,
why do we need to get a job?
why do we need it to support ourselves?
why the hell do we even need to go to places like universities to have a higher chance of getting a 'job' in the future?

I'm pretty sure most of the people here can agree, if money didn't mean something,
they'd have chosen a different path in life.

Its up to you what kind of emotional attachment you want with money. Just be happy when u have some, when u lose some and when you have none.

Both agree and disagree. I love to have some extra cash to spend on going to the cinema or eat dinner in a fancy restaurant with my boyfriend etc, but I dont think I would have an awful life without money.

Money can buy almost everything, but I often meet the wall where money make me unhappy. It can bring so much pain, struggle ++ that its just not worth it. So in my eyes money can be both a "blessing", but also a curse.

Money helps eat and everybody has to eat, but only 0.2% of people are employed in agriculture. So cumulatively, we're all doing 500 times as much work as is necessary to feed ourselves. We should have a hell of a lot of money. Where does it all go?

Anyway, more is better. Can't really argue with that, unfortunately.

You can put that way too.
But to express the phrase "money isn't everything" in more depth, to some people they find other things more value in life than having more money or being rich.
Whether it be friends and family, success, vacations, travel, and so forth.
We know money is necessity in life in order to have certain things, and to do what we like.

Let's not forget, there are people who are greedy and snobby, only thinks of themselves. Money matters to them.

I'll find out how much "money isn't everything" means when just two days ago I got dropped from 40 hours per week to 25 or less because of Obama care.

CREAM!

Money is everything, all must bow down to money!
Specially if you live in the most capitalistic countries.
USA-Where I'm from, if you're broke, you are nothing. If you have money, you are respected.
That's just how the system has been manufactured.

Cash rules everything around me.

Nope, money is not everything. Love is far more important.
I would far prefer Love over money. Note: I said Love, not love. It's complicated to explain exactly the difference, but look at Maslow's B-love, its the closest thing to Love that is easily explainable.

IDK what that statement even fucking means anymore.

Obviously it isn't everything but a lot of what life has to offer can only be achieved through money/profit/capitalism. If you're a materialist then obviously the statement will mean more to you.

I care more about my health and I can barely afford to fill my prescriptions(but at least I have healthcare now, I didn't before 'Obamacare'), so yeah money is always going to dip its hands into necessities in life and try and create a profit out of things that shouldn't be profit-driven.

so yeah money is mostly everything now and i hate society for it.

People who say money isn't everything are those who have always had it.
