My roommate walked into my bedroom today to talk, after a while she looked at the alarm clock, then the computer clock, the watch I was wearing watch, and then the rest of my watches. She called me out on having my clocks set wrong. I never even really thought about it. All of my clocks are set 4 hours and 27 minutes fast, but I can look at any of them and know the correct time instantly. I don't even ever remember intentionally doing this.

Focus: Do you count telephone poles while driving to work? Do you circle your bed three times like a dog before you fall asleep? Share any idiosyncrasies you have or alternatively tell us about someone with an idiosyncrasy that annoys you.

Note: The best idiosyncrasies are ones unique to you. No one cares if you tap your finger or foot to music just about everyone does that, but if you have advanced delusionary schizophrenia with involuntary narcissistic rage we would love to hear all about it.

Hmm...Idiosyncrasies huh...first time I heard that word. It sounds alot like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder to me for some reason.

I guess mine would be shaking my right leg up and down when i'm tense about something. Usually happens on a interesting part of a movie, when I'm playing video games, or i'm waiting for something.

Idiosyncracies are peculiar behaviors that apply to an individual or a group. I assume people with OCD develop certain behaviors perhaps while they are under treatment.

@Hopchow:
4 hours and 27 minutes and you know the correct time no matter what...very interesting

@vampyrrep: I don't know how you fold them, but I have to keep folding them until I form a small triangle thing. Hard to explain.

I have long hair, and I have noticed recently that whenever I am going to read something, I let my hair down. I simply won't start reading until my hair is down.

Apparently the forum is rift with people unaware of the differences between OCD which is a psychiatric anxiety disorder and an idiosyncrasy which is "a peculiar temperament or habit of body".

In other words when people say they have a bit of OCD they're actually referring to an idiosyncrasy they have since OCD shows up in about 2.5% of the population while almost everyone has an idiosyncrasy. Get it now?

That's interesting as well.

I find that I hate stepping on cracks in pavement or on the sidewalk, I attribute that to the old, "don't step on the crack or you'll break your back" rhyme.

I always fold my napkin in triangle before I eat my meals. I don't know why I do that but it's been that way for last few years now.

My weird thing when I read is that I can't stand having my shoes on XD. When I'm at school or something I have no choice which is annoying. I move a lot when I read too. I keep adjusting my position or how I'm holding the book etc.

So...it applies as a wierd habit but in a milder sense.

I guess it would be...I try to balance on anything I can step on as long as it looks like some sort of line. Would that be indosyncrasy?

I constantly wipe my hands or mouth while eating something. I always end up using like 10 + napkins during a meal.
