Do you like the Otaku title?
Posted 10/19/10
lol...
the word otaku was created in Japan when a man kidnapped little girls and reacted scenes from his hentai collection with them..... i think i read that he kill them too..
they went to his house and found stacks of hentai and anime/manga/video game stuff and called him an otaku
thats why in anime and in dramas people say "eww" to an "otaku"

most Americans don't know this and they just called themselves an otaku because they're into anime/manga/games etc..
and feel proud...

It doesn't bother me at all. It's kinda fun to belong to a group of people. ^_^

I don't mind being called an otaku. I'm not weeboo obsessed though. I will admit that I'm slightly above average compared to other anime lovers though.

You know you are an otaku when you have paid to put on an anime convention out of your own pocket.

Call me what you will. But strictly speaking, in Japan Otaku is usually used as an insult. So as a result of the cultural constrast I take it as one. I prefer to engage anime and manga as a hobby rather then a lifestyle.

I actually play games more then watch anime.
