i wonder if the person who started off the thread realise that autism is a condition not a disease?

I've worked with autistic children before and they're no less than anyone of us. Please show some tact when touching topics as such.

It's insensitive to those who might be autistic or have close family and friends who might be within the category.

not offending any1

haha alright then =))

hey are you a doctor?

haha not really. i'm just a ad-hoc part time counsellor at the autism research centre but i major in design.

part of my job is to provide probono campaign designs to educate the people on conditions as such.

ooo...i see cause i'm making some research about this kind on condition

Your post doesn't make sense.

Have you been given a brief account of what autism is, or have you given?

I see, so in other words, you weren't really listening to what it is?

Sounds like you guys are defining savants..

I might have autisme, but they don't know for sure. So I was placed in a school for aspergers & ADD children. Because the shrinks thought I would have it best there=/

Einstein, Bill gates, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Alexander Graham Bell. All these people had autisme or were thought to have, so it isn't necessarily a burden.

One step closer to world domination*smiles*

Yes, it seems that I've mixed up autistic and savant. Yet, aren't those related?

Autisme are parted up in classes/categories, so in a way your correct..

Savant is a person with both autism and savant syndrome. Savant syndrome describes a person having a mental handicap of some sort with extraordinary mental abilities. Like the genius Rain Man.

''There are only about 100 recognized prodigious savants in the world''
