No... I don't think so...

Some of my classmates watch anime too, so people around me doesn't call me crazy. D:

Also, I think it just depends on how a person is blending to the society. I watch anime but I don't really adapt their expressions.

i guess sooo...

i watch anime everyday but i dont answer i japanese... except that i have a friend that we use common jap words...

70% of the music i listen to is from anime...

and i even advise others to watch different kinds of anime...

i guess the only thing that annoys me is that when im hooked to the anime i watch i cant seem to stop...

or if i stop watching... it will be in my head until i return and finish it...

kinda like my line of work...

I'm not an otaku in the stereotype.

My Japanese teacher (before he left) told my friends what the stereotype of otaku in Japan is:

'Unwashed hair, quite fat, wears baseball caps and T-shirts with anime characters on them, and usually wears big glasses. They usually hang around in Akihabara.'

Hehe, so I'm nothing like the Japanese stereotype, thank gawd... D:

Well, that's because you are in England so you cannot go into Akihabara.

Yes, I know.

(Planning to go to Japan someday...)

Anyway, I just meant that..

a) I'm not fat
b) I don't like wearing baseball caps, or plain T-shirts with anime-characters on them.
c) I have contact lenses.

So I may be an otaku by name, but not by nature. ^^

Um...it depends on what sort of Otaku we're talking about. The guys that almost never leave their houses and spend their entire small paychecks on anime...yes...crazy. That's very unhealthy.

But being otaku like how we use the word outside of Japan...meh...not so much. Using Japanese words is a little weird (especially if the person can't understand you) when it would be just as easy to say "Stupid" instead of "baka" but it's not crazy. It's just to be expected that others will think you're weird.

I myself go through spurts of using nonsense words when I'm disappointed or embarrassed. Sort of like the girls from a key visual novel (though I don't use "gao" or "ugu"). And my family of course looks at me like I'm weird, but I manage to contain it outside the house (and I usually only do it when I'm tired and my brain's all foggy anyways). But everyone I know thinks I'm weird for reasons other than my anime-fan status. I've been considered weird by everyone who knows me in town since I was in fifth grade.
