I'm sorry for chiming in but doesn't anyone else finds it ironic that she said

Religious tolerance is a cornerstone of our democracy and republic.

Then goes on and says

False Religion-Islam
Franklin Graham said on NBC Nightly News that Islam is a wicked and evil religion. “The God of Allah is not the God of Christianity.” Pat Robertson has been quoted as saying that radical Muslims are demonic and satanic. Islam is not a religion of peace. Islam’s goal is world domination. The Taliban in Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia have religious police, called the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, roam the streets with mini whips enforcing dress codes and prayer time.

etc...

Because the last time I checked, Islam is every bit a religion. Just because you decide to call it fake doesn't mean it is. So learn to respect it please. Just because someone somewhere is abusing it does not mean you should just condemn it. And I'm not even a Muslim. Please try not to post something insensitive and subjective like that. Thank you.

I agree with the statement that Christianity isn't a religion. It is a relationship. Christianity is the only belief system that doesn't have you do works to get into heaven, preform rituals, make sacrifices, and think you are better then others.

Islam is a religion, that is fact. We should respect others beliefs even if we think they are wrong because they are entitled to them too.

Doesn't that depend on which branch of Christianity you belong to? If that was true then there wouldn't be churches or any Christian holidays. And as far as I know there are very few, if any, religions that require you to believe that you are better than other people. In fact, Christianity is the one religion that I know of that indirectly promotes that type of thinking. I'm pretty sure that the Bible says to "spread the word," and many people might and have interpreted that as "you're better than everyone so make everyone be like you."

And other religions aren't about a relationship between man and their divine? What you said just sounds awfully biased. Plus, I have many non-denominational Christian friends, and I'm going to tell you right now from where my pagan ass sits, it looks like they're doing all of the things that makes something a religion, as according to you. The Bible still requires them to spread the Word of God (acts), pray and go to church (ritual), take time to learn of God and Jesus (sacrifice), and pity people who aren't going to heaven for not living "Biblically" (better than others).

Plus you're definition is twisted and far from scholarly.

re·li·gion (r-ljn)
n.
1.
a. Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe.
b. A personal or institutionalized system grounded in such belief and worship.
2. The life or condition of a person in a religious order.
3. A set of beliefs, values, and practices based on the teachings of a spiritual leader.
4. A cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion.

A religion is a set of beliefs and practices often organized around supernatural and moral claims, and often codified as prayer, ritual, and religious law. Religion also encompasses ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and mystic experience.

What about religions that don't have a concrete afterlife? Or ones that don't glorify an afterlife? Judaism while they do have an afterlife, currently only have shoel (sp? I can't remember for the life of me) to live in after death, which really just means all of you (mind, boy and spirit) are in the ground, dormant. Yes they strive to please God, but they still don't believe in having a messiah that has come yet to make heaven available for all. As a result, Jews appear to follow God morally in this life for the sake of this life, where as the other two Abramic religions (Christianity and Islam) tend to put a lot of emphasis on the next one.

Hellenismos, which is my religion, has such a confusing portrait of the afterlife that most of us really don't care until the time comes for funerary right. What we find to be really important is our relationship with the gods, finding arete and living without great sorrow or regret. All of those are this life issues, not afterlife ones.

It isn't a "religion" because we don't need rituals, it's based on faith, and the whole point is a relationship with Christ. Islam is about preforming the 7 Teirs (im not sure what they are called) and living devoted to Allah. Buddhism is about finding inner peace and being a good person (from the Buddhists I have talked to, but I could be wrong because these people were not theological Buddhists) Hinduism is about worshiping and serving many gods and to be a good person so you may be re-incarnated in a good life. These are just of a few of the worlds most popular religions. None of them are about having a direct relationship with God. Christianity might have religious doctrine. But True Christianity is about faith and service to the Lord and having a personal relationship with Him. Not going to church all the time and doing good works to make us look good (we should do good things to further the Kingdom, but only in the name of Christ, we should give all the glory to Him because he deserves it)

So even if you've killed, raped and stolen repeatedly, as long as you have strong faith in God and believe you have a good relationship with him then you can still be considered a pure, wholesome Christian?

Pretty much.

But doesn't doing all those things violate the 10 commandments, and doesn't breaking those intentionally and repeatedly= bad Christian?

the islam religion contradicts itself. It follows the old testament like Christians do, so they follow the ten commandments and one of the commandments is thou shall not commit adultery, yet look at the new rule muslims made up. If you die for "Allah" you get to have sex with 40 virgins in heaven lol

And when God says he's a jealous God, it's not the kinda of jealous we look at, like, "oh my gosh she has a better pair of shoes than me" typa jealous, it means jealous as in: if i go out and party all night long and stray away from the family. And my mom finds out about it, she's concerned for me. So when God says he's a jealous God, he's really a concerned God.

That doesn't really answer my question, it actually provokes more questions. Now it may just be the way you or whatever source that is listed them, but weren't there only 10 commandments? And, not that I know much about the Bible, but isn't the King James Version considered "false" since he edited certain parts, and it doesn't convey the true meaning of God's words/desires/whatever?

I am a Catholic but I also have my own philosophy regarding going to heaven. There are many hypocrites in this certain religion and I don't think most of them will go to heaven. And i think God wouldn't look at your religion when He's meeting you in your death. He would be checking your list of actions and see if you have a valid passport stamped with good deeds. And by the way, I think religions are only made up by influential people who are then followed by other people, but despite of a variety of religions, we only have one Supreme Being.

Nah that wasnt a new rule the muslims made up thats a new rule main stream media made up as a smoke screen to cover up the real reason why the Palestinians are suiciding bombing the israelis and your too ignorant to find the source of this myth or directly ask a muslim where this came from. Hell if this was true there should be suiciding bombings everyday in every country a muslim lives in non stop if we all thought we are going to get virgins in heaven. Hell nobody should even be alive today in muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia if this was true and you cant even find a quote like this in the Quran so dont speak nonsense and leave Islam out this thread. No muslims on here is telling you how are religion is the best and yours false we are just minding our own business. I know it is hard for you to stomach that we accept and love our religion but your just going to have to deal with it.
