I don't understand why you want to compare filipino to japanese. Honestly, the 2 cultures are like day and night. Yes both are asian, but that's where the similarities end.

What do you mean by "day and night"?...

Is this some sort of "discrimination"?...

Just want to remind everyone, we're just talking about asian music, not culture or country...

Please be sensitive enough...

pinoy rock has no chance against a whole fucking continent..........the one concrete thing that pinoy bands have going for them is that they are generally more fluent in english, but other than that you cant say that they are more musically talented.......

anyways ill just make a list and directions to other than pinoy bands i've been listening to (not including Visual Kei or metal)

so anyways, you should expose yourself more to other countries music next time before making a horrendously ignorant comment like " filipino rock is better than asian rock"..........

I agree...

I love, love me butch by the way.. I'm a big fan of theirs..

The only pinoy band band in the mainstream that I'm definitely proud of and I can consider that can go international is:

Faspitch

Other pinoy band on the mainstream are bullshit... But I'm proud with the underground scene of the Philippines...

By the way.. Other asian bands that rock additional to twixandchips' list:

Nervous Light of Sunday

What do you mean by "day and night"?...

Is this some sort of "discrimination"?...

Just want to remind everyone, we're just talking about asian music, not culture or country...

Please be sensitive enough...

The sentence doesn't apply discrimination... It means that.. We are "different"...

"Day" is different from "Night"... "Right"?

Philippines is part of Asia, therefore it should be "Filipino rock versus (specific asian country) rock"...

for me, i like japanese rock... no offense but i don't like some filipino rocks especially if it does not make any sense at all and it's too loud for me...

Sensitive enough? Ok, I think you're being OVERLY sensitive. Seriously, who am I discriminating? "...day and night..." is just a common term that defines absolute differences. Btw, when one says asian music, it is defined by countries located in asia and usually influenced by their perspective cultures. How you can take all that out of the equation is beyond me.

i agree with jpopped... i don't think he was discriminating when he compared filipino with japanese music because "day and night" means way too different... just like hot and cold, fire and ice....

for me music has its basis... it can either be based on experiences, base on one's culture or based on emotions... therefore, culture is part in making music...

Yes, I think that's way beyond your control, I mean, how I took your words...

I just asked you if this is some sort of discrimination... and according to how I understand it, if I understand it "right", you're trying to say it's not, and that is a relief.

I'm not trying to make an argument here. I listen to Japanese songs too and I enjoy it alot.

Well, after all, all I want to say is that the next time you make a post, please make it clear. We can't avoid that sometimes our words are misunderstood, and that's normal.
