Screw RIAA and the rest. When I get my PHD/mighy successful (in the distant future), I will help fight against them and their evilness. Media and programs should be available to people all over the world... including those that can't afford to pay for all of it.

Profit is great, but reproduction without production cost is just exploitation.
Their programs/media gave them more than enough cash. Therefore, things that costs them 0 cash should be distributed at 0 cash (this is the long run, after profits paid made them rich enough).

Well, I found this site just by searching on Google--so even if no one direct links, it's going to be discovered eventually by someone who is as harmless as I am. I certainly don't want the site shut down--even if I just joined like.. Three days ago.

Maybe only taking down dubbed stuff would be the best course. After all the originals with fansubs are never going to be shown for profit. It'd be a shame to loose those animes because where I live we get preciecly 0. I don't count the crappy Naruto dub but that is the only thing we get. They haven't even shown dragon ball on toonami in a while.

That won't work. If somethings dubbed then it would imply that it's licensed. If its licensed it wouldn't matter if it were dubbed or subbed. I havent seen any dubbed stuff on here. If you mean everything thats licensed then there would be virtually nothing left. I mean with how fast everyone is liecensing and all. There would be few quality series left. I am actually looking forward to the licensing of anime...hoping that the dub doesnt suck. I don't think that anyone would stumble upon this site so easily. Its quite hard to find this on a search engine unless your looking for "crunhy rolls" and if you accidently forgot to put a space between "crunchy" and roll." I don't know what you can do about this getting to big except by keeping this place under wraps. As long as everyone keeps their mouths shut from blabbing about this place TOO MUCH then it should be fine.

Post all the cod that went into this site, I, and I'm sure someone else, will copy it, make a file and save it, then if the site gets taken down, we can re-establish it somehow. once downloads are possible, we could also assign someone ( I volunteer) to back up all the anime on a spare hard disk.

[Edit]
Can't you ask google to remove your site from its database?

if cr grows big enough, the "other" people might actually like it! cr is supposed to spread anime across the world, so they might have tons more customers bc of cr..

That's a very worthy goal. Personally, if i could find the time, i'd love to create a personal archive of EVERY anime i can get my hands on. But that would take emmense time and effort. Copywright laws being what they are, I'd also have to be in some country that dosn't have the restrictions. Oh well. At least I can watch it occasionally.

SHINJI,
I work at an agency that makes websites and if im pretty sure that as long as the anime is not licensed in the country your server is hosted in you are on the safe side. Try and find server hosting in some obscure country that has no idea what anime is and you should be cool.

Not an expert on the subject but copyright rules depend on whether the owner of the material wants to protect it. In the past, most Japanese distributors turned a blind eye to fansubs because a bunch wacky gaijin out of their country just isn't worth the hassle. Your main problem would probably be American license holders and perhaps odd balls like Media Factory Inc.
