what about pink eye...?
Posted 4/8/08
i think that's imposible for a person to have totally pink hair, like sakura of naruto u__ú. I could be like red with a tone of pink, but just that. It must be beacuse of the sunlight, the hair color seems to be pink, but it's not.

No such thing as "natural pink" The girl was pulling yoru leg.

not true..i know a person. But its hot pink.

and it's natural? i HIGHLY doubt that. I studied geneology in my first year of college, pink isn't even in the GENE list... it's simply not possible.

hmm.. i think.. its possible to have dark a bit pink hair.... or light pink.. ( usually should be light red)

the hair may appear pinkish, but it's actually red. It's a lower level of the red genes usually mixed with blonde. (techincally called strawberry blonde)
It's the same idea (genetically) as someone with auburn hair. it's the dominant gene, Brown - the case with auburn haired people, or blonde - the appearance of pink.

Some hair, can be considered "translucent" which reflects colors around it, but that hair is actually pigmentless, like the case with most albinos - ask abel, he'll be able to tell you the truth of that statement, he's albino. if he's in a room with the wrong color light, i'm sure his hair appears pink, but it's really just pigmentless.

"Pigmentless"? *confused*

Pigmentless person, an Albino.

Pigment (from webster) a coloring matter in animals and plants especially in a cell or tissue.

When you get a tan, you're darkening your pigment.

It's natural in 99% of humans,
There are some born with an extremely recessive gene that have no pigment, this is called albinism.

Pigment is useful, it's helps you see things (the pigmentation in your iris of your eyes - the lighter the pigment, the lighter the color of your eye)
Albino people have none, so their eyes appear red, as you can see the blood behind their working eyeball.

This is the same principal that applies to their hair - it can appear pink from the blood running under their skin of their scalps.

most albinos wear sunglasses or colored contacts to blend in with society.

And yes, rabbits have no eye pigmentation. neither do rats or many small rodents.
