NATTO
Posted 4/8/08

Nattō (納豆, Nattō?) is a traditional Japanese food made from fermented soybeans, popular especially for breakfast. As a rich source of protein, nattō and the soybean paste miso formed a vital source of nutrition in feudal Japan. For some, nattō can be an acquired taste due to its powerful smell, strong flavor, and sticky consistency. In Japan nattō is most popular in the eastern regions, including Kantō and Tōhoku.

I for one love natto. I have it almost everyday in the morning with my rice and eggs. The only time I don't eat is if I'm eating toast or cereal. I know that most Americans hate it for it's unique smell and stickyness. Here is my question, do you like the stuff? If so, when and how often do you have it? If not, why don't you like it? If you haven't had it before woud you eat it if it was served to you?

Oh I couldn't find a topic like this so if there is one like this please lock this thread

L0L, I've seen that food in Gintama, and it relates to Hentai omg.

I haven't eaten that food yet. And if I have the chance to eat some, then I will. It's worth a try L0L

No recipe. the sauce and mustard comes with the natto it's in a little package like this.

The yellow package is the mustard and the silver package is the sauce
Typically what I do is I would mix all of that stuff together. Then add sliced green onions and a raw egg and pour it over white rice and eat it.
If you wanted to cook with it you can mix it in omletes or put it on top of cooked mochi or put it in a burger, etc...

No problem but be careful of the smell. First timers usually hate the smell but once they get used to it, they start craving for more. Also, I don't think you have to order it online. You can probably get it at your local asian food market. (If you have one )
