one should never regret what one did in their life. what happened, happened, and that's it. You cant change it. live, people without regrets. there are so many things i could regret in my life, but i dont. There was a reason why we did that, even though we dont know the answer, maybe we will know later in our lives

i agree with this wholeheartedly...there was a time during the summer of 2006 that i completely went wild. and did some stupid things...like broke up with my bf and replaced him within hours with another (bad idea: lasted just 1 week!) and went on an alcohol drinking spree [i am now immune to alcohol! - can't get drunk no matter how much i drink ] but i don't regret those things.....i just think that they are a sort of learning experience for me...of things i shouldn't do again....at least i can say that i have lived my life actively and not passively sitting in a corner waiting for life and excitement to pass me by!

i also learnt fristhand about the darkside of people and so i am not blind anymore...i have learnt how to choose friends wisely and to mature gracefully!

uh that is only true in certain situations, or would you also apply that idea if for example you had an argument with a person close to you and for trying to have some stupid "pride" you did not forgive them then they die or move to another country....are you going to tell me not to regret getting over it?

Well, time will heal everything if someone never regrets anything.

To sakitolover's post:
Yeah, you're right, no one should live with a regret, I have the exact same philosophy. However, it doesn't mean it wont happen. You can't change the past and you have to move on, and I've done that, but that doesn't mean I don't regret something from the past.

I have a regret I will hold on for the rest of my life. Not speaking out. A friend of mine brought a guy to her house that she was "dating" when her parents weren't home. I thought it was weird because I knew the guy was much older than her and she was a freshman or sophomore at the time... but, I told her to have fun. I didn't advise against it since its her life. Since I've knew the guy there was always something shady about him, he seemed older than he was and he always had this weird quality. Well, anyway, a year later I found out she was raped around that time by that guy. She wasn't drunk or anything, not a slut or what have you. I regret not speaking on my mind saying "maybe that isn't a good idea, I don't trust that guy. Why not all hang out over here?" like I thought. Maybe I could've stopped it, who knows, but I know she didn't deserve what she got. I regret not speaking up.

I also regret a few other things, but sometimes there are just things in your life you can't get over, no matter how hard you try to stick to that philosophy.
