One Console Future?
Posted 4/10/08
Why not have a console where you control the character with your body...if you don't move it doesn't move type of thing...

to make the character run you could have a tredmill instead of a controler...FUN! woah...I'd enjoy that...

don't like that idea? You sooo laaazy

Prices of consoles are dropping due to the competition between Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony. So if they'd make a console together, it'd be REALLY expensive. So I wouldn't even get to buy it. But people already said that.

Ok, one console with all cool features of all consoles combined would be awesome. It's a hard choice for me to choose between Sony and Nintendo. Sony has got amazing graphics, nice games, but is really expensive. Nintendo has got terrible graphics, awesome gameplay, and cool games to choose from.
So if you have a console that could be like Wii and PS3 in one, then it'd be so cool.
On the other hand, I'd never buy a 360, so there's no need for Microsoft to be in this console thing.

I also kind of like the fact that they're all so different, it's nice to have a choice when buying a console.

I think in the end I'd not like having one uber console. So let things just stay the way they are and praise competition for it's awesomeness.

Umm.. are you sure that the cost would be really expensive. I don't think so for the fact that since all 3 companies would be together that would lower the cost of manufacturing the system on each end. therefore it would cut cost down for the consumer as well. and the more profit each company would get. because the more systems would be bought because it would be at an affordable price.

I dont that would ever happen because they wouldn't get pass naming the system: "NinSoSoft" or "SoNinSoft" or "SoftSoNin" or "SoSoftNin" or "NinSoftSo" or "SoftNinSo" eventually they will go to war about naming it.

You don't seriously believe that manufacturing a console costs (what's the price in the US?) 400 dollar, do you? I don't know how it's called in English, but when one company offers a product of which there is no other alternative, then we call it a monopoly. It means that that company doesn't have to try hard to be the best, because there is no competition. The price of their product will be very high, because consumers will buy it anyway (there's no choice, you want that product and there are no other brands to choose from). Of course, for things like consoles, the price will have to be reasonable. It's a luxury good, you don't need it. But they can ask 600 dollar for a console because it's 'so amazing' and 'really worth it'. People who really want a console will still buy one.

Manufacturing a console probably costs less than 50 dollar. No competition = very high price.
