i've never had a taste for vitenamese music... i am viet, speak, read, write fluently, though i was born in canada......., it just never got a way into my head, i dont wanna criticize it too much, so....reasons will not be displayed, lol
anyways, here's a website that i think might be helpful....my friends showed me it:
www.yeuamnhac.com

yeah, they need some Western/Japanese/Korean/Chinese/Taiwanese influence (if thery don't have any already). too much boring music, though I like being able to comprehend what they're saying xD

I don't listen to Viet Music that much. The only time is when I either watch Paris By Night, Asia Entertainment, or Van Son. I don't understand most of lyrics as I tend to listen to the melody and beat instead. Most are remixes of other countries though. I especially like Cat Tien. She's one of my vietnamese Idols along w/ others. But otherwise I don't listen to it much. I listen to other music. I like something where I have no idea what the song's about and just the beat and melody's going through my head.

i get my vmusic from http://yeucahat.com

they have paris by night more than five times a year.

Vmusic is pretty decent depending on where you get it. If the only viet music you get is from ASIA, Paris by Night and Van Son, you are missing out on tons of good music from the artists from vietnam. Try Dan Truong, Ung Dai Ve,and Cam Ly. Those are pretty good artists and they all sing live.

Don't they have Paris by night 5 times a year or something? The last time i watched one was with the Finland Idol contestant Roni Tran, he is actually excellent in both singing english and vietnamese.

he has nice songs.

I've never watched PBN or Vanson for the music, I think those are only good because of the comedy skits v.v.. If you really want to listen to Vpop, try Lam Truong - Cung Dan Buon (I prefer his old songs to his current style), Luong Bang Quang - Anh tin minh da cho nhau mot ky niem, or maybe Ung Dai Ve - anh nho em nhieu (or pick some singers who are actually working in Viet Nam, they usually have newer songs) And there already are lots of Korean/Japanese influences in Vpop imo ^^
