I'm not trying to get enough points to make a thread, I'm trying to reach 100 so I can go into that chat room. Stupid Gev, get a haircut. And I WON"T be your sugar dada anymore.

And look at that you reached 100 three posts ago, so go into the chat room and let the mods ban you there. *smiles*

But then it would be harder for me to track him down, right? Worthless people don't deserve to call themselves human or exist so...That means I can eat him, right? Can I Duster? Please?

^^ wow, you must be one of those ebonics people he was mentioning in his first post.
Wow *in shock byu the massive about of intelligence just displayed*
Yet you don't know Gev, and if you did, you wouldn't be so stupid, because Gev doesn't like Idiots, and you keep proving yourself to be one over and over, it's quite humorous actually.

Edit: Yes Shei, you may eat him... just don't forget to spit out the nasty ebonics bones.... i'll bet those aren't very tasty...

^ I probably hate idiots more than Gev does...Its kinda sad really, because I actually get very violent urges to take my frustrations with them out upon them [physically]...Somehow, I usually seem to be able to resist and end up resorting to taking it out in other forms...

Why should it matter to you if people want to look or sound ignorant? I understand if it’s the net, cuz it’s a pain to read that crap, but when they’re talking it has absolutely no effect on you. It’s like people ranting about gay marriage. Okay. Sure, the idea isn’t appealing to me, and I don’t choose to live that way, and find it weird and gross, but how does a piece of paper binding two dudes effect me?

It doesn’t. Now, when they tried to teach ebonics as a foreign language, that had all sorts of effects that concerned me. Yes. Let’s teach ignorance! Huzzah!

EDIT: Having English as a second language is not an excuse for bad grammar or spelling on the internet. There –is- such thing as a spell check. Refraining from using them is simple laziness and I refuse to respect anybody who refuses to hit ctrl A ctrl C ctrl V ctrl C ctrl V to make things easier for other people. That’s selfish. You make us have to read through your crap because you’re lazy. You people are –not- stupid…okay, well, some of you are. However, I know that many of you who come off as idiotic are considerably more capable then you appear or act. Please stop. It’s such a pain.

*Gives the thread an actual title*

Also, this rant would have probably fit in the pet peeves thread but whatever.

Well, let's just say that currently I am working part time at a warehouse and well, it seems to employ a variety of stupid people, and also people that are incapable of understanding, let alone speaking, English as well, but that is beside the point...Anyways, when there, I usually feel the urge to take at lest half of them out back and half them shot, or maybe to just snap their necks, run them over with a ten thousand pound forklift, ect, but I resist; I walk away...Then I need to open a box of shirts or something and the next thing I know I have punching, ripped, and well flat out demolished the box to the point that the cardboard is in shreds to one degree or another (the product is still fine mind you)...

I have gotten better about controlling my anger over the past few years though...I can remember getting locked out of the house (by my mom...on purpose...when I was 12) and taking a rake to the drain pipes...Many holes...Or a time when I broke and extra wooden rake handle around a pole when I was 13 (don't even remember why)...Or when I punched through a wall and didn't notice the little pieces of plasterboard sticking out of my hand, until I felt this tingling and the small amount of blood drying on my hand about 15 minutes after the fact...Or my putting holes in my door and wall with a butter knife...But yeah, I always ended up repairing things that I destroyed (for the most part), so I stopped destroying things that mattered and started with things like cushions and pillows that cannot easily be destroyed by punching...

Note: Lifting weights is also a great way to reduce anger...So is using a punching bad...And last but not least, playing contact sports...

Of course it is you silly! if you don't have enough knowledge on English grammar to properly express yourself you can have 3 spell checks but they will not help your coherence.

If you are incapable of writing something that vaguely resembles english, either leave CR, or die.

I cannot stand idiots who can't write coherently.

Wow... It seems that where ever I go, I run into these threads. Perhaps it's because I'm a linguist, and stuff like this stands out to me.

It's been theorized that most prejudices are based on language... And people who look differently than us are more likely to speak differently, due to a different background, and what socio-linguists call "Identity." And who's to say that YOU'RE speaking the "correct" way, anyhow? In English, there's this interesting little phenomenon that the "first" speakers speak it better. Go ahead and try this at home... Ask someone what country they think is more eloquent and grammatical. You'll find that more often than not, the answer to that question is England.

In addition, people linguistically look up to people who have more overt prestige (i.e. a higher social class), although it is perhaps better to say that they are linguistically oppressed.

But really, what I'm saying all boils down to one thing: Why don't you people who are so quick to judge whether something is a dialect, or wrong, go look up the definition of dialect from a linguistic source. More specifically: a socio-linguistic source. And here's a hint for you. If you find someone saying that a dialect and an accent are two different things, you've found the wrong source. That's not what a sociolinguist would say...

Oh, and Ebonics . How I hate Ebonics .
Newsflash , Ebonics is not a dialect , its laziness .

Now , don`t get me wrong , I`m not racist , but , If you want to be taken seriously , then speak correctly . Its your choice , you can either speak in a way that makes you sound intelligent in say , a job interview. Or, you can leave the interviewer thinking you " just another dumb nigger" .

I would say Ebonics is a form of expression. And by correlating Ebonics with "lazyness" or stupidity is discrimination towards a form of expression. I'm assuming you are categorizing "lazyness" and stupidity under bad.

Socio-linguists are full of shit, psycho-linguists are where its at.

And i believe that i have mentioned before that i despise most English accents and dialects .

I even get Angry at myself when my PA accent worms its way into my voice.

ps. Thanks a lot for changing my title , Mr. " Gev`s title wasn't good enough for me" .
It took me 20 minutes to find my own thread again after you did that.
