Howls Moving Castle - the different setting for the scenes were nice. and hayao miyazaki made the magic so beautiful. the reactions of the characters were so human, and th romance was truly fairy-tale. Howl is beautiful, i was really engrossed into the movie. it was also inspiring, the way he displayed his anti-war opinion. subbed or dubbed - its the greatest.

Princess Mononoke - Another Anti-war studio ghibli masterpiece. Gods and Demons. Also, its a ecological movie. Human vs nature. the pain felt real. Ashitaka's drive to have everyone live in peace and to get his curse healed. the evil you can see in humans and the effects of what happens when we kill the forests and kill the homes of animals - my personal favorite of all studio ghibli movies.

Grave of the Firefly's - made me cry
Spirited Away -

those are my top favorites

I've seen most of them. My current favorite is Spirited Away, but I'm still holding off on watching my raw copy of Gake no Ue no Ponyo in the hopes that someone will sub it before it gets licensed in the States. I've heard so many good things about it, I suspect I'll wind up loving that movie more....

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind has got to be my favorite anime movie next to The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. I love the heroine, it has a very touching plot, and is all together pretty damn sweet. Howl's Moving Catsle is pretty good, too, especially romance-wise. Princess Mononoke is another personal favorite (I wish there was a kiss scene, though), as is My Neighbor Totoro. Castle in the Sky, The Cat's Return (hillarious movie), and Spirited Away. I couldn't keep away from them when I was younger and I still adore them. Miyazaki was what first introduced me to anime (ignoring Sailor Moon, but I had no idea that was Japanese and I didn't think about it for like five years until I discovered CR).

I have a hard time picking between Howl's Moving Castle and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind...

Spirited Away was also impressive, but I prefer the two I already mentioned.
