Well this question aroused on my mind because Ive been planning to switch from Win Os to a Linux/GNU kernel OS (specifically Ubuntu). and as Ubuntu has two (and I think it has even more) options which are: KDE and GNOME, i was wondering which one do you find better, faster and preferable.

Eh, I've used both.

Gnome: Easy to use. Least amount of learning required for the switch.

KDE: For advanced users. Looks better than Gnome and runs faster, but in the end it can really piss you off if you don't know how Linux works. It also tends to forget things (like the fact that your PC has USB ports or that you have more than one CD drive). It can also be a pain to add things to it.

Oh and use this thread
