Gameplay for me without a doubt, growing up in the NES generation will do that to you. Both need to have some kind of balance though, I've played games great in concept but the horrible choppy graphics made it near unplayable.
If they started pumping out new NES or Genesis games, I'd be set for life!

Agree to an extent, but that's for nes games, it's ok if the graphics is shitty. But I couldn't be bothered to play a brand new game with shitty near unplayable graphics, even if it had the best story in the world.. but then again it goes the other way as well, I can't be arsed to play a good looking game if it lacks good content.

Definitely gameplay. Even if there's a high-tech graphic game with bad gameplay, it's pointless to play it.

It's 50-50 for me. There are some games I'll play w/o caring about the graphics, but nowadays I prefer games with better graphics. More aesthetically pleasing, I guess you could say? I dunno.

For me it would be gameplay as I need a good story in the game or I will refuse to play it. Graphics are not that important to me as I will go back and play final fantasy 9 from time to time.

Graphic is generally for first playthrough. If i were to replay the game again, its definitely due to the gameplay then.

Gameplay all the way. Graphics are nice with 3d stuff but sprites I don't really care one way or another. Personally the SNES/Genesis era is still the best time for games imo. Though the GBA and DS have really fought hard for making nice games too. 3d graphics are the only ones I get elitist about. if they aren't all super top of the line or at least ps2 quality I really hate it. paradoxially I LOVE resident evil 2 and 3 despite crappy graphics |
