Does eating fat make you fat?

Bruce Krahn's Response

It depends. Eating the right types of fats in the correct amounts will not make you fat. As a matter of fact, it is quite the contrary. When you eat the correct types and amounts of fats, you will actually lose body fat! However, at 9 calories per gram, fat is very "calorie dense." This means that you have to be careful not to eat too much and to make sure that you are consuming more of the healthy fats (mono- or polyunsaturated fats found in vegetable oils, nuts, and seafood ) and less of the unhealthy ones.

Fat gain can be contributed to 3 main factors:

Consuming more calories than your body needs (the law of calorie balance, or calories-in vs. calories-out). Your body stores these calories in your fat cells.
Chronically elevated blood sugar levels. When your blood sugar is always high, it has a ready source of energy, which leaves the stored fat to remain on your waistline.
Insufficient activity. It is far better to eat well and use exercise to build muscle and burn calories.
As a general rule, I recommend consuming no more than 25% to 30% of your calories as fat. One type of fat that is especially important is Omega-3 fatty acids, which are found in highest quantities in fish oil. These fats have been proven to increase thermogenesis (heat production), decrease fat cell size and volume, reduce cortisol, and improve brain function. Look for a fish oil supplement with a high percentage of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and choose a reputable brand.

Now, now. Don't blame it on people. Blame it on science!
But I actually think it really depends on that person. That's why exercise was created; to balance your figure and health.
Unless, IF you want to be a fatty jerk, then congratulations! No more hard work for you ^_^
It's really a waste if peopel just throw away their effort. They can just do a little exercise everyday and they can change their figure in a snap. I don't know what's wrong about it, but hey, you're now a good-looking bastard ;)

hmm well lately this has been my diet and I've lost 5 pounds (now 96 lbs) in a week and a half:
nothing 'till 4:10 pm about and then I have...
*example being today*
a bowl of pasta
2 full bowls of cereal (cinnamon toast crunch, hell yeah.)
a porkchop (random I know)
some canned cranberry sauce(")
a cup of mint chocolate chip ice cream
2 pieces of this chicken pie stuff

and then I exercise at night for 20 minutes

so have I been eating the right kind of fat or something because this just doesn't make sense to me?
