14 year old super star

GOOD BUDDHA! I'll admit it, talent wise she just owned everyone one of my idols in about three minutes, but she doesn't have the Moe like Aya Hirano! :D

EDIT: To the genius below me, it's called being bilingual it's a skill. Some people in this world can actually speak more than one language......FASCINATING ISN'T IT! :)

EDIT2: Again, to the genius below me. Aya Hirano's voice is unparalleled. She can sing high soprano and low alto! Plus she can manipulate her voice when speaking. Can you do that? :)

EDIT3: One, people usually speak different language in phrases not sentences. They might add "Great" or a "Very beautiful" to the end of their sentence or to finish it off sort of speak. No one uses different languages to form a sentence. Just so you know I am watching Aya Hirano live and about 300,000 screaming fans on the video and me beg to differ.

EDIT4: Even is it's every other phrase, anyone can tell the difference between English and Japanese or Korean or Chinese.

First of all,
http://www.crunchyroll.com/showmedia?id=127605
much better quality.

Second, do you expect her to sound like she's in a MV? I guarantee you no artist will sound like they on on their MV's live. Besides, that's her style of singing. Just like that guy in AKFG, he' not that good of a singer and his voice isn't that spectacular but everyone loves him and he's always a little off in his lives compared to his MV's. If you watch the whole SHnY concert it isn't just that performance. She sings and dances constantly, she did pretty well considering everything else on the side. The first song I heard from her was God Knows in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and at that time I had no idea what it was, I love it.

P.S I have been in a choir for five years and for three of them my teacher has never stop yelling at us about our singing, don't tell me I don't know tone.

EDIT5: One, that fourteen year old girl would run laps around just about anyone so that example is just about pointless. Two, what does Christina Aguliera have to do with anything? Three, choir people need to know everything about music in order to sing or else there wouldn't be a choir would there? Plus pop or not pop notes are notes. Obliviously your not in a choir so you would have no idea how hard it is to sing in front of people, and I take it your not a famous Japanese pop idol so you would not know how hard it is to sing in front of 300,000 people by yourself.

P.S Your not American by any chance? Becuase that would explain a lot

EDIT6: Ooo marching bands and solos huh? So how many people have heard you play your solo? How many people have seen you march? 1000? 10000? 50000? Big whoop. Everyone knows people in band are people who can't sing for beans and as a substitute use instruments because that's the only was anything pleasant will come from their mouths. Sounding extremely well live doesn't mean you sound like the MV. Plus it isn't an idols job to embrace pressure, an idol is suppose to gather continental attention[if not international], keep up with pop culture, and have an image. I hardly think you would do any better in her field than her in yours. Next time you should look into Japanese pop culture or go to Japan to see how it works over there. Not everyone follows European standards in music, there is another half to the world.

P.S I did hear her out of pitch and wrong tone in various parts and I don't remember saying otherwise, even so she has most of the people on this planet beat and even some current artist.

EDIT7: If you want to continue this conversation then PM me, frankly I can't stay up this late anymore, my tardies are getting way too close to becoming official.

this is her now---
shes amazing. i dont know why some of you are so skeptical.

Ok I'm just gonna rant about this here. FREAKEN PEOPLE TALK IN ONE LANGUAGE ONLY. God listening to the host was fricken annoying cause she changes from english to i dunno if its Filipino or spanish. Ok now that I got that out of the way...

Damn... Now seeing that its real, I somehow feel less freaked out. With a bit of singing lessons, she can go far I bet.

^ Aya Hirano can't sing to save her life. But she is quite talented as an voice actress. Except her "normal" voice is freaken annoying.

Edit again: Hey Why not I speak mandarin and mix half of that with english and then top that off with french. Anyone listening to that for long will get annoyed EXTREMELY. Hello, wo de name est Eric et J'aime ping guo alot. Now keep that up for a few sentences and even those that understand the language will come over and slap you. And I said Aya Hirano is a good voice Actress but if you actually watch her sing like live, its HORRIBLE.

Edit again: Its the same thing language wise. Speak in one language unless you do not know how to say it in another language. I mean I would understand if she add in the occasional english or something but she use it like every other phrase.

and

http://youtube.com/watch?v=6uEkMZIDG_E

if you say tahts good singing, you obviously do not know what good tone is. Her voice warbles and is so unstable. And you and that 300000 are just fanboys who can find no fault with their idols. I promise you if you didn't hear of her before you'll think the song sung is digusting.

And again: Christina Aguliera has an amazing voice. There I just disproved you. Choir people know jack about music I'm sorry. Music teachers are trained to listen to our craptacular music so most of them know horrible when they hear one. I bet you anything your teacher will have a field day criticizing how bad Aya Hirano is. And especially this is pop music. Voice shouldn't warble. Hell the 14 year old girl runs laps over Aya Hirano. And if thats her "singing style," why does she not have that "style" in post produced music? I don't recall bad being a style.

Edit: No I'm not American. And wtf what does being an American has to do with it. If you stereotypically put all Americans in the category of dimwits, you just made yourself look extremely retarded. And Christina Aguliera is a person that can sing EXTREMLY well live. So when you say no one sounds like their MV, you're wrong. And I have done solos for band and yes IN front of people. And also marching band. Your easy peasy choir means nothing in music. Just people with good voices coming together to not sound ridiculously bad. Pressure has nothing to do with it. Shes a star she should embrace the pressure and BTW, its her JOB as a idol. Hell I don't expect her to do better than me in my field of study and why would I need to be a Japanese Idol.

Oh and btw, the 14 year old I said have the makings of an excellent singer. Shes really good at 14 granted but if you actually LISTEN which I know you don't you can hear bad tones and unevenness in her voice. But she have years to go to be able to catch up with some of the top American Singers (since she seem to sing R&B/ American music more)

Edit: LOL? When was the last time you read notes. Choir's job is to sing and thats all they know. Very little actually go future and actually know the notes or even attempt at music theory. And Apcapella with one person is incredibly lame. And I might not have been to the almighty overrated country you call Japan but I know offkey and tonedeaf isn't a fad for any piece of music. But the point is you still sound well live. Aya Sounds horrendous live. Even if you see the clip of her in the studio. That was ALSO horrendous. And there no "audience" there. And I listen to Asian music. Heck I'm Chinese. So I know what the norm is. But the fact that I listen to artists that doesn't sound like a high pitched frog live.

Heres a judgement. Choose any of Aya's live performances and compare it to a fellow japanese popstar Ai Otsuka:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=6didIF6uImg

Compare the tone and stableness of their voices. Or hell even compare Yui.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ta2kPl_cs04

Or Maki from HamC

http://youtube.com/watch?v=EBHpVB4Y1cU

They might not have the best voices in the world live but they still run light years ahead of aya. So Aya singing like that is NOT because of the culture.

Wow, I actually watched the show "Little Big Star" here in our country and to say she is only one of the finalist then that means there's someone better than her that won first place...yet her voice is still good....

Hi I had just stumbled upon this topic recently.. I agree that she has a great voice but its not something to be amazed in my opinion since here in the Philippines their are many talents just like her...

Almost everyday you could see it in our television [variety shows etc.] from national contest to inter baranggay/town/municipality. But still the feat that she had made [breaking into international scene discovered by a recording company in sweden from videos on youtube] is remarkable.

In the Philippines talents such as hers are often overlook , not only does she compete with other talents her age but also those that are already established singer/diva.

but as a filipino I'm still proud of her I hope she'd be succesful... go AJA! AJA!
also FYI she had been featured in E! Chanel twice with the header "a star is born" and " A queen is born on daily top 10". And with the issue of lip Syncing even the E!chanel had confirmed it that she is NOT doing such .
