To the person who said "It looks as if fat people get the same treatment black people get in anime" - Last I checked, there weren't any white people in anime either. Most, if not all main characters are Japanese.

there is actually alot of anime where the setting is based in europe, especially it seems, the vampire-genre ones.

Never seen a fat person as a main character. Haven't seen a fat character in an anime that wasn't used as comical relief or perverted either. Now I see how the Japanese see overweight people! Fat and perverted.

I really wanna read this "Boys Esthetique". I can't find a single site that hosts it.
Also, anyone ever seen real drive? The main character isn't really "fat", but she ain't skinny either, and one of her friends is pretty plump. In fact, there aren't really any skinny characters to speak of. Pretty much all of the guys (with an exception or two) are nice and toned, though. Not that I care.

I can hardly even think of a single "fat" anime girl. Hm; Yotsuba Satsuki from Negima!?, but she's hardly even "fat."

No ecchi = No Money. Ridiculous theory...I tend not to watch shows that feature the main characters as "Moe blobs". We need more shows like Black Lagoon, Twelve Kingdoms, Ghost in a Shell (Or whatever the hell it's called), Gantz!, Beserk...Etc, etc. Characters who are real, with personalities and weaknesses.
But alas, such a day shall never come. I predict in ten years, there will be only three anime genres:
Harems,
Shounens,
Mechas.
I don't like any of them.

Yeah right... How many Japanese people do you know who have natural pink, green and blue hair?
And race wise I can hardly tell the difference between an American character and a Japanese character.

Oh yeah you are right about Real Drive...now I am starting to remember.... that the female characters including the androids,the lover are not drawn skinny either.

Real Drive 
is the answer.
I liked this anime.I'ts produced by Production IG ,released in Spring 2008 , the animation was awesome,excellent fight scenes.Story was unique,scifi elements was interesting and the human /charater development was done well.
Here is the main female protagonist 
Minamo Aoi
Now that i think more about it, that the male charcters are all drawn somewhat fit and slim and the male protagonist is both an old man and a young adult
