It's basically a given here on the internet. It can't be helped that there are ten year old children wanting to pretend they're teenagers. Nor that there are old geezers who want to act like they're young. There is little chance that when someone is asked for their age here that they'll give it correctly, since it's all too simple to lie and there isn't a high chance that the other person will learn the real one. It'd be great if people that don't want you to know just didn't put anything in the first place, but what's stopping them, really? Age doesn't matter much, since you can be just as immature or reasonable whether you're 10 or 20. But people feel like it does, so they try to pretend. It's their choice in the end, we can't fix their desire to be something they're not.

Age isn't totally irrelevant. After all it informs me when I have to smash my head against my desk when some teen complains about having seen it all. Hmm, if you were a child soldier in some war-torn country or something horrible like that I suppose it could be true...but then I doubt you'd have a moody profile pic whining about the lack of depth in harem shows.

I fake my age, becasue I relate to people much younger than myself. People my age are BORING....so I fake being 99...although sometimes I FEEL that old.

I concur with this post. Regardless, I pay no attention to the age or gender of people online. I could be an old lady masquerading as a young man. How would anyone ever know? I find people's interests, and what they have to offer in conversation more appealing and meaningful.

hmm..i'd say it matters in real life but not on CR..still, your cousin is funny.

cause a 10-year old will def write differently than a 16-year old.

i think i'm listed as 25 but that is a lie i'm closer to 30. I think no one will be surprised how old i really am ...between 20 and 35 ...ppl are pretty much the same.
