I wouldn't say it should annoy you that much.
But I do see a point in it.

I speak Japanese, German, French, Tagalog, and hopefully soon to know more.
But I never type anything out any any other language.

You saying stop typing Japanese is just like saying stop speaking it if you aren't Japanese.
But people also shouldn't learn one word and use it over and over. If you're going to learn a language at least learn how to speak it fluently.

zomg i coulldn't agree more... -.- somehow japanese wannabes annoy da freaking hell outta me (especially those who don't even know freakin jap grammar-- and brag about it) even though i consider myself to be one, i don't go running around in forums saying nonsense like " ohayou minna-san!! i <3 nekos: theyre so kawwaiiiii~~~) like wtf how can ppl actually say that-.-;?? yet anohter language to be butchered by these godamn weeaboos.... o yea, just adding another thought: dont you just HATE those surveys in cr that ask you which country you want to live most in.. seriously ppl actualy waste their time asking about that kind of shit... obviously the majority of those freaking wapaneses r going to choose japan like come on; my advice to u guyz is to never waste ur time one these things cuz its pointless asking hardcore wannabe otakus who think about nuthing but japan... i mean japan is cool and all but its not perfect -.-"

sry to pplz who had to deal w/ this;; i just felt like ranting my anger in this forum ^.^

Haha

There's ROMAJI in my Profile, because there are some/A LOT of PC users out there, whose comp. is not Jap. Enabled =)

but ya, I also hate when people use random Japanese words in there sentences -____-
and what's even worse, is when they boast about how they can speak Japanese, when all they do, is just remember lines from there favorite anime show ...
and then you say something simple to them like "you speak Japanese?" "anata wa nihongo o hanashimasu" "あなたは日本語をはなします”

and they're like o.0 *nods while backing away slowly"

I actually plan to move there and become an ESL [{English as a Second Language}] teacher...
So then, i'm actually learning the language, I have a whole bunch of books, taking an online course, and I have a teacher at my school who lived and worked in Japan for 15 years to help me, plus I have my Japanese 'friends' on Skype, and I'm on Language Exchange sites. and so on and so forth...

because unlike a lot of people that are considered "Wapanese",
I do NOT half heartedly study Japanese, and ONLY remember lines from anime and stuff.
I actually STUDY STUDY it =)
sorry, this post is a bit long...

It actually annoys me pretty badly... I have a friend that is always tossing random Japanese words into her sentences, like "BAKA" "NANI?" or "KAWAII!"... it frustrates me because she doesn't know any words other than that. However, I also have a friend that is legitimately taking classes to learn Japanese, and he will speak in phrases (mostly only to the people who can understand him) and I don't think there's anything wrong with that since practice makes perfect.

On the other hand, I have seen a lot of Japanese people in programs and music who hardly speak a word of English tossing in words like "HELLO" and "YES" etc. into their sentences, so isn't that kinda the same thing?

Ok honey
Many people are interested in other cultures
So don't put them down for their feeble attempts to be Japanese
I dont see whats wrong with using romaji...
If you are Japanese, I'm sure you know how much the Japanese love America (among others as well)
EX: KATAKANA in modern Japan is used for foreign words
and Japanese music always finds some way to put English into it

YEA what he said

Exactly. I don't see anything wrong with people trying to explore
different cultures. It does not bother my what so ever and to make a whole
thread dedicated to this is a little juvenile and pointless.

Most people think it's cool. Just like how some people in anime say words in English during their sentences. Just look at Sakurada in Great Teacher Onizuka.

Most of the people that TRY to speak Japanese in their english sentence happen to be girls anyways.

Haven't you heard of someone using the word "ciao"? It's an Italian word. Geeze, a majority of girls in CR these days say "KAWAII" instead of "Cute", annoys the hell out of me.

In my country, most people -me too- say 'ciao' (spell it: chao), intead of Adiós...
