I never dump my head into the sink, I usually don't wash my head twice a day. I skip a day then I wash it. I'm not a hair freak so I do not know much. I barely comb it anyways. But you probably do lose hair by washing it and styling it so much. But you have way too much hair before it all falls off. >.<

I wash my hair everyday, and I don't listen to the warnings. If I leave my hair unwashed it gets so greasy, and I end up getting so annoyed. I straighten every day as well, but it's usually washed late at night, then styled the next morning.

twice a day is a lot isn't it? once a day is more than enough or try to use a mild shampoo because it does wear ur hair down since shampoos pretty much rips every last bit of oil out of it and ur hair nids it to protect itself and from breaking. would just rinse ur hair out in the morning and wash it in the evening or something.

My sister who is a lousy hairdresser said that we`re not supposed to wash our hair everyday .
It`s supposed to be washed every two days . Then , we`re supposed to comb our hair
so that we spread the oil from our scalp down to to the tip of our hair . That`s how it`s done .
I don`t do that . I wash my hair everyday . My hair smells weird if I don`t wash it .
It smells like oily , greasy , unwashed hair . >.<

Read this if you want healthy hair! I worked in a salon for a year and learned this crap.

You shouldn't wash it every day, and especially not twice a day because it dries your scalp out and can cause dandruff which leads to clogged follicles and hair loss. You need the natural hair oil to keep your hair healthy, so let it get greasy now and then. If you are using styling products that make your hair stiff, wash it out at night, but do not wash it again in the morning to avoid split ends. Also, if at all possible, buy your shampoo from a salon. The stuff in the grocery store has paraphin wax as a filler, which does not actually make your hair healthy, it just coats it with residue and makes it shiny- which also clogs pores and causes dandruff/loss of hair. If you are having a problem with hair loss, try NIOXIN. It will remove dirt and oil from the clogged folicles and let new hair grow back.

Does getting your hair wet in the shower count as washing it? I only use shampoo every 2-3 days. I put on gel everyday though. My hair looks funny if I don't >_>

Dandruff is just dry skin, so you want a nice conditioner to moisturize it. A lot of store bought dandruff shampoos and conditioners are actually bad for you, because instead of exfoliating and moisturizing your scalp, they just use a wax-like residue to basically "glue" the flakes of skin to your head (it makes it seem like the dandruff is gone, buy it's just caked to your scalp). This of course does not solve the problem, but in fact make it worse in the long run because the dead skin which is not being exfoliated will clog your hair follicles and prevent new hairs to grow. Any shampoo and conditioner you buy at a salon will solve this problem. Most products in the grocery store will make it worse.

It's okay to wash hair everyday, but once is enough. Unless a person does sports in outdoor activities then maybe twice per day. I think the most important is to find the correct shampoo and conditioner.

To wash hair everyday, use lesser shampoo, and more conditioner for the lower halves hair (from below ears onwards) and most importantly conditioner the ends of your hair more as that is the area most prone to dryness and split ends.

To prevent hairfall, avoid combing hair when hair is still wet as it may damage our hair follicies. Instead, use a wide-teeth comb and lightly comb the lower halves hair to detangle hair.

Alternate shampoo/conditioner, I alternate mine weekly.
