It was so fast, so freaky, i can't be sure if it was real, but it is. what about ya'll? do ya'll think ghosts exist? I respect your views on this experience, but in sleep studies this has occurred many times where a person is consciously alert but their body is paralyzed and they have some sort of sensory experience. During a portion of our sleep cycles, our bodies naturally "paralyze" as we go through the normal REM sleep cycle. AS we approach the hypnagogic state, some people experience whats coined as "hypnagogic hallucinations." Which is where a person experiences some sensory phenomena while in a transitional state between sleep and alertness. To shorten up a long explanation, it sounds to me very much like a hypnagogic hallucination. |

In my experience yes.
My grandfather was in the hospital, in another state. He was very ill, but the doctors couldn't say how much time he had left. My Mom and I were sharing a room at her uncle's during our visits. We had gone to bed. I woke up in the night feeling my grandfather's presence. I lay very still and quiet. He passed over me towards my mother and she started crying. Not long after the hospital called to say my Grandpa had passed away. He was just saying his goodbyes. |

I do not believe in ghosts.
Now that I've added that productive statement to this discussion thread, I'll be off. |
