Wow i remember watching this many moons ago it's pretty epic stuff but it was good and Lee Young-Ae suited the role very well

There was also an anime adaptation of this entitled Jang Geum's Dream - not sure if it's any good as i have never watched it O_O

DJG is a licensed drama and sold by Yesasia. So, it's probably been removed from all the sites. It really is the best drama of all.

You do need some patience because there are 53 or 54 episodes (can't remember exactly). The story is lengthy because it covers Jang Geum's life from birth to adulthood, plus the circumstances under which her parents came together. But, it is not draggy because there is story development in every episode and suspense that leads you into watching the next episode. So, you really can't skip episodes, if you want the full affect.

The political intrigues and the effect on Korean history are very interesting. The acting is great, cinematography is beautiful, food looks delicious and medical knowledge is accurate and informative. Plus, the OST is magnificent.

This drama is worth renting, borrowing or buying.

It is sold by Yesasia, but for people like myself who don't want to buy or rent, it's on http://aznv.tv/en

I've been saying I'm gonna start seeing this very soon, but find the 50+ episodes rather daunting. I tried to see 1st episode and struggled. When does it become really good?

This is a CLASSIC drama. It's very long. Fortunately, I rented mine from the video store. You may have to resort to that. It's a tear jerker. But not one of those mindless movies you see so often on the market.

Sometimes it will make you think, Did she really existed?

I wouldn't be surprised if she did existed.
I wouldn't be surprised if they even exaggerated on how well she cooked or cured.
