As someone who was in 6th grade last year- You have NO idea. All of the girls are blonde, slutty bimbo's who walk around on their cell phones talking about "who is hot" and wear shitloads of eyeliner and mascara INCORRECTLY (Because I know how to use it properly, thanks to my Aunts job). They all wear slutty clothes and high heels (Okay, I wear high heels too, but I wear it in a sophisticated way. Like a Black Dress shirt, black Pinstipe pants with Red heels, and a red necklace.)

This is a slightly stupid, yet smart idea. Kids know more than you think.
(I am the only person in my school to have gone through puberty (Period, Breats ect.), yet they are the boycrazy ones...)

That'd be an interesting topic also sixth graders having sex is disgusting and wrong. If one gets pregnant and wants to have the baby they'll most likely die.

The youngest person in the world to have a baby was a 7 year old girl, and she lived.

anyone try living in BC? van? LOL. girls at the age of 12-13 are having sex daily.

Shichifukujin wrote:

Where I live anyone can get them (and condoms for that matter) for free.

All you have to do is walk into the health place and ask. Doesn't matter what age.

That is sick...

The parents must have done something to her.
What has this world come to?

I agree the parents must've done something to her

It sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Yea, 6th graders shouldn't even be thinking about sex, but when it comes down to it, what's more important: Protecting their fake name of innocence, or preventing the pregnancy of a 11 or 12 year old?

Are you just saying that so you can get the pill?

I'm not having sex until I'm married.

lol good choice

STDs and especially new ones will emerge in the future thanks to this early sex programs XD

I should add something on topic.

I think it's stupid to just give it to them. It's basically telling them it's ok, and it's not. I think if people are stupid enough to get knocked up at such a young age by willingly having sex, they deserve what they get. Same can be said for STDs.

I wholeheartedly agree with you on that one.

@neomanxl

I'm pretty sure that the pill can cause a lot of heart/circulatory problems if you're at risk and not taking them properly, but I'm not positive. I always thought these hormonal pills were always prescription not OTC since it's never a good idea to randomly mess with your hormones.

I totally agree with you, and I have to say the "parent" in the interview just sounded stupid and unconvincing he kept saying how it would "keep them safe and healthy" - birth controll pills only prevent pregnancy, they don't keep sexually active kids safe from STDs and so fourth and by giving them the pill, just turns on the green light for them to do so - .. -.-; - and again I agree if they are stupid enough to be doing that at that age and get knocked up..really it's their fault and it's a life lesson for them.

*sigh*
Then why do you think it's so responcesble? And you surpport it?

Of course I support it. I care more about how many girls would end up either pregnant, or with STDs than I do about protecting the "reputation" of sixth graders being so innocent. When I'm a parent, I'm going to explain to my kid why she should wait until marriage to have sex, but it's up to her. If she ends up having sex, I'm not going to be one of those parents who pretends they don't know, and act like their child is this innocent child who can do nothing wrong. I'd atleast would make sure she's safe, because acting like nothing is going on could end up leading to pregnancy, or even worse, an std. It's the same with these 6th graders.

Umm...I think its better then the alternative...but yeah, the parents should definitely know if their kid is even THINKING about that...*shiver*

This is utterly telling the child to go and have sex with anyone you want to have it with. but think at another angle for a momment, what if the children are the ones getting raped? it may come in handy.

When a child (or anyone for that matter) gets raped they are given a pill that does all that stuff. So it's not really a issue.

Do you really think a school has that much influence on morals?

o_o; Wow..I dont think school should be giving them out I think it should really be up to the parent and kid and that they should talk about it with their parents.
