But we are to give all our worries to God, I would rather keep them bottled up then have another worry about me. I agree taht it is out of Love that we pray, and nothing makes me happier than to pray for another, I just cannot fathom being able to knowingly let someone worry about me.

Once again I have question I need others opinions on or some verses.

First of all .I’m sick of being tore between thinking someone is a 'good' person and 'good' Christian. I've been fighting with this friend on and off for probably a year. Most of the time I let it go but lately it's be bugging me.
They a good 'Christian' but they don't seem like a 'good' person. They're a horrible friend, they seem to be a superficial person, and not to mention plain dumb.
BUT! She is a good Christian. She prays, talks to God, goes to church, and reads the bible. All this makes a good Christian right? So riddle me this can you be a good Christian but not be a good person?

Well, what is a 'good Christian"? Here are some verses regarding religion (the "practice" of being a "good Christian").
Jam 1:26 If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.
Jam 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

1Jo 4:20 If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.

The Bible says that we must love each other, and that if we don't, than we don't truly love God. God judges the heart, and He knows the intent of your friend. He knows what he prays and why he prays. God judges if your friend is a "good Christian."
Mat 7:16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
Mat 7:17 Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
Mat 7:20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

If you do not notice the Fruits of the Spirit being produced in your friend, then they very well may be a hypocrite. Goodness is not judged by men, but by God. More importantly though, we need to make sure that our lives are lives that produce fruit and honor God. Lives that do not have dead faith and genuinely loves others and God.

Mmmm sounds like their just self rightus. Like the Pharisee and th Publican 18:09-14. In my opinion a good Christian and good (or compasionate) person, must be the same. So no I do not believe you can be a good Christian but not be a good person.

Thanks I was jsut wondering. I'll make sure to read that verse. Selfrightous huh? That sounds just right. Do these kind of people ever change? Cause from the looks of it they certainly won't.

God works in their hearts and He can change anyone. Some choose to remain stubborn though and resist God's Conviction.

*sigh* You obviously doesn't her do you? She's too stubborn tochange,...or jsut to stupid. I tihnk a lot of times what she does or say isn't what the bible says but what she think it says. It's liek she twists it to fit aroudn her stupidity. She the kinda of christian that make the rest of the world hate us because she's so pig headed.
I've had her tell me I'm a bad person just because I dated more than one guy in my life. I haven't read that anyway in the bible. I'm startign to think the devil has his hand in this some how.

It wouldnt be the first time the devil has used a selfrightus person. O btw I know of no vers in the Bible about dating more than one person. What I want to say is she is no friend (more like a frend). Do not react or interact with persons like her. I have strong feeling she is not really saved. O and by not reacting, dont let your anger show to her or her followers. Treat her as you believe Jesus would want you too.

Too late. We've been going at it for a past couple months. It's boil to a high point a few days ago. She's engaged to boy who claims to be a christian, he's not far from it. Hate to say it but this all start when she started to date him. I think he lead her astray. She did get me into chruch but I think it's time I break off on my own.
I wish I could promise I won't strike back at her but that is a promise I know I can't keep. But thanks for your help, much appertianced.

Rom 12:19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay,"*says the Lord.

It's not are place to strike back. Through Christ Jesus we can always overcome temptation. 1Cr 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

No, a good Christian needs to be a good person, if God does not shine in all that they do then they are not doing a good enough job on either front. If someone said I was a good person I would be offended, I am a good Christian. The glory of Christ should show through all that we do.

fair well to thee, or in english, good night to you.

Being a Christian is either a yes or a no, for my binary geeks a 0 or a 1. Either it is on or the light is off. Either your a Christian or you are not. Luke warms need not apply, and we need to be souled out in all that we do.

A convicted Christian keeps from sin, if you don't get convictions, you might not be a Christian. I am taken in on the signs of a redneck by jeff foxworthy. he is poplular and ill spice things up in this post with a segment called you might not be a christian...

if you do drugs...youuuuu might not be a christian

if you are an alcoholic and enjoy getting drunk youuuuuu might not be a christian.

if you treat your friends like dirt and you goto church religously... yooooou might be a hypocrite.

Well I haven't done it yet. I was about to when the whole guilt thign set in. Exact thoughts ' if I do this God will punish me for it ten times worse.' I want to but I won't. I know God will get her but I fear how. I don't liek that fiance of hers. He's insolating her. I know if I let go of her that she'll have no real friends left. That's a sad life if you tihn kabout it. But she happy with it and I really don't want to go on with this act anymore.
