I have a decent sized collection of tarot cards, but I don't read them because I don't think divination really works.

I not only love the Tarot, I read the cards with a 95% accuracy....the other 5% is when the person wanting to know something can't focus on ONE THING, which is important for a good reading.

Hmmm, that's really good. How long have you been reading Tarot for?

About 20 years. Started out of curosity and it just developed into my ability to "see" exactly what and who the cards were talking about, in relation to what the seeker wants to know. Keep thinking I should open a shop....I would make WAY MORE money than I do at my job!

20 years! Well, that's interesting, and I don't doubt your skill. But don't you think everyone might start to criticise you and think you're just trying to con people into giving you their money?

By the way, I'd like a reading from you, if possible. If you don't mind that is... I've been interested in the Tarot for awhile, and I'm glad I finally met a devoted practitioner of the art.

Well, when someone asks me to read for them, I tell them to NOT TELL ME what they want to know about: just to THINK about what they want to know, so if I hit on the subject they have in mind, they'll know it's not me just making a lucky guess. And despite what "fortune tellers" may say, you...the seeker...have to actually TOUCH the cards in order for me to accurately read them for you. Tell me what you look like. PM me if you want to give me the details, and I'll try to do a generalized reading...........which is to say, will be about what might happen within the next 6 days; 6 weeks; or 6 months.

I do. I've been using the tarot for about ten years now. Cartomancy generally is only as accurate depending on certain elements: the experience of the reader, how well they work with a deck, how well they work with a spread, and how the questioner takes it. More so than cartomancy now, I use the tarot for meditation, though I still read divinations on occasion.

The beauty in the tarot is not in divination, but in the archetypes of the major arcana. If you are working with a Rider-Waite deck, or any deck based on Waite's work, they are very good tools for working with the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. They tell a nice story, too, if you ever look at them in that order: the Fool seeks out his lot in life, coming across characters and situations that guide him to true fulfillment (the World card). If you play Persona 3, you see these archetypes in the characters you have to build relationships with to obtain certain Personas.

Theres a book out called "the Lovers, the Devil and Me" that I want to get. It's an autobiography through the tarot, essentially. The author originally didn't believe in the tarot, but after some convincing from a friend during a time of serious stress, she went to a reader and pretty much got her whole life spread out for her and got the best advice from it. It continues with more of her experiences with tarot reading and her life.
