And there are retards like me who try to push in the clutch in an automatic car, and go "Wtf?" when we don't feel it.

waiiiit you have a clutch in your automatic?

I'm saying I'm retarded in a way that I can't drive an automatic correctly.

To support your statement, you're saying that you try to press on the "clutch pedal", when in fact, automatics don't have clutch pedals. Without a clutch pedal, control of the car is reduced and manual transmission drivers feel like communism is controlling their driving in an automatic.....

Something like that. I just doesn't feel right when I drive an automatic. Seriously, what does your left foot do? Brake?

It wants to feel a clutch pedal. Left foot braking feels weird.....

Maybe I should cut my left leg off when I stop driving manuals =p

Well, you could put a nonfunctional clutch pedal to prevent yourself from cutting off your left leg :)

just budding in on your conversation but you can always put your left foot on the parking brake pedal although its a bit uncomfortable just dont push down bad things will happen if you do while driving

not all cars have that parking brake at the left side of the driver side. some of them have the e-brake stick behind the shifter

Leave it on all the time and you're simply straining your engine. Use it ONLY AT HIGH SPEEDS (such as freeway speeds)

This is why America should actually have manual transmissions instead of confusing, annoying automatics trannys.....

To leave it ON all the time, is good because the engine is not getting strained and should be left ON all the time... You turn OFF the overdrive when you wan't the automatic car to do a quick down shift..

Also that's how you eliminate the downshift lag of automatic, instead of pressing on the gas more, just DISENGAGE the overdrive button and it quickly downshifts.

BASICALLY OVERDRIVE is like an extra gear.. Turning it off would make the car downshift.

Also new automatic cars now a days don't have the overdrive switch no more..

well its better to be good in both ends.. manual and automatic making you a complete driver..

Don't you know you could make an automatic car response like an manual transmission car and eliminate that shift lag..

It's all about adjusting to the car and appreciating what it has.. Make the most of it, learn how to drive old cars or automatic cars faster without putting a strain in to it.. Then it should be easy on newer cars or a manual transmission car go even faster..

If you think that way then u are the on who is handicapped because your not a complete driver.

Leaving it on all the time will strain the transmission and engine as it uses lower ratios like an extra gear.
