haha are you all kidding? JAL isn't affordible, I am looking into a trip to Japan and I have been researching the cheapest airlines. JAL is usually $200 more expensive than the rest. I have never been to Japan, but when I flew international to Haiti I took American Airlines, the flight was nice and the seats were comfy. I flew cheapest economy so it was kinda cramped, but other then that it was fine.

just take a standard airline (like united or continental if your in the us) on your way over. i know tokyo, osaka, and fukuoka (sp?) have international airports, i can't say with any authority about elsewhere in japan.

i haven't been to narita (the tokyo airport) myself, but i've been told it can be nightmare for foreigners. unless you genuinely speak japanese (not the baka kawaii neko desu weeaboo crap) or are like me and can nose around areas you don't speak the language, it'd be a good idea to check out a map of the airport before you get there. most international airports have separate domestic and international areas - like have to get on a bus or monorail to get there separate. this can be confusing if you're not used to traveling, or if you have a very limited time to catch your connecting flight.

once in japan you're confined to japanese airlines if you want to fly around (like, say, go to okinawa). i flew ANA (all nippon airlines) and i didn't have any problems other than confused looks from the other passengers who were all azn. it must have been cheap since it's what the us government uses (and since you lovely taxpayers paid for my japanese vacation, i have no clue how much the tickets cost).

No airplanes are safe..% of survival depends on weathers and pilot skills...

and by the way, I prefer JAL, Korean Air, and ANA...NWA is fine too..

....and DO NOT take Delta because their flight attendants are mostly ugly, middle aged, and careless...lol

and prices of the tickets, it depends on where you are..so i can't really explain that

Nagoya(my home city) have really large int airport (little bigger than Narita).. and it's brand new too lol.

and Narita is nightmare for foreigners i agree..because it's really crowded.. and it's just like foreigners(me) stuck in Atlanta airport lol..

and if you want to go to Okinawa, you got to stop at Fukuoka int. airport and go to other airport to change a flight(you have to take a bus) ... and land to Naha Airport which is located in main island of Okinawa.... That's what I did(for school competetion, i went there twice).. im sure there are other ways to go Okinawa thou...
