wheres here, japan? i highly doubt it was...i could be wrong though, but i still doubt it was. Korean Pro-Starcraft players already got their hands on it and are the only ones who have played it. Blizzard Entertainments main buyers and players are America and Korea, i think japan would be the last place they would throw a demo at (if you are indeed indicating japan as being "here"). im not even going to bother getting into your opinion on the game.

I don't know. I'm not a fan of RTS's or Halo, so for me it's two points of terrible rolled and balled into a filthy mass.

I'm gonna give this topic a shot in the arm. After all the demo's out, which include the first two missions in the campaign, and a 1v1 skirmish against an AI opponent. For anyone who's curious.

The two playable races are obviously, the covenant and USNC. The flood is hinted to be in the campaign though.

Yes that ability is as overpowered as it looks!

There are three leaders for each race, as far as I can tell (not sure if there are more but that's all I saw in the demo, only one on each was playable. The different leaders seem to offer more variety to the races. The abilities that I know for sure are: Prophet of Truth (Covenant) Shoots a big beam in the sky, as seen above. The arbiter is supposed to have suicidal grunts (awesome) and the one playable leader on the demo for USNC (Captain cutter or somethin) offers ODSTs and ODST drops as well as a mobile base.

Pound for pound, USNC troops are supposed to be stronger, and Covenant appears to have a higher population cap. There's not a huge amount of troops you can gather, and resources are for the most part unlimited. Expansions are needed to get resources faster or to build more buildings, you can only hold so many buildings at each base. so to tech fully while getting enough resources you will still need to seek out expansions, alternatively rushing is pretty viable since you can just stock up on a bunch of supply pads and one barracks or vehicle and crank out unupgraded troops quickly.

The cinematics look fantastic

The game itself has a high production value as expected from a Halo game. Cinematics look fantastic, music is well composed, albeit not much different than the general themes in Halo in general, nothing great but still good.

Controls work well, the d-pad helps fix the problem of moving around fast enough on the console and getting to your bases quickly. Selecting units is pretty easy as well you don't have to be dead, and don't invade each others space, so it's not too difficult to select a particular unit of infantry. The left and right bumper buttons select all units or units on screen respectively.

My only gripe so far is a slightly annoying one. First off collision detection, like I said units don't get too close to eachother, they also won't walk through each other. And if you had a wall of units, and moved only wanted to move one unit forward you'd have to move the others out of the way. This is annoying but i can only see a problem in the campaign, multiplayer maps are larger, plus the need to micromanage single units like that isn't particularly needed, moving units back, sure, but you'll have enough room to do that. Probably.

Overall the demo is a fantastic demo, and it makes me want to buy the game.
