The question im wondering right now is why did they get a new taichou as a filler character?
I mean, he's bound to a) die or b) leave under pressure or other external circumstances right?

The poor life of filler characters... they are used as substitutes, hated by fans, and then killed...

Lol! That's very true. Though there is logic behind the madness I suppose. Since the storyline of the anime has caught up with the manga release they have to slow down the plots so the mangaka can have more time to write the cannon. That's the only logic behind fillers. By the time the last cannon episode was made, the manga was probably only a few chapters ahead of that. So, in order to give it time to jump ahead by an arc or two: Filler. You'll notice that most anime based on manga that are finished before production begins don't have nearly as much filler if any at all. Theres no need for them because the story is already finished.

*Sigh* Yes. At the very least they could have veried the character designs a little more. Unless we're to believe that this is on purpose that they look like Urahara (with a dash of Isshin or something) and Szayel and that they are somehow related to them. That's just gonna be annoying.
I'm gonna suffer through it though. Like I did the Bount arc (The worst three days of my life!) Because I'm OCD about things like this and to skip and episode disturbs me and I might miss cool footage. (Like Izuru kicking Koga's doll up and down that construction site...and Izuru and Shuuhei in general, lol), otherwise I wouldn't watch it.

ok, just to clear things up, ichigo didn't return from hueco mundo.. the time line of this filler might be after the bount arc or before the hueco mundo arc.
