Pagcor City

PAGCOR City is the name of a Las Vegas like gaming and entertainment complex that PAGCOR is planning to build on 8 km² of land on the reclamation area of Manila Bay. The cost of the project will be $15 billion , which is scaled down from the more recent $20 billion budget announcement that had been previously announced in 2007. All investments will come from private companies [1].

The project has recently been renamed "Bagong Nayong Pilipino-Manila Bay Tourism City", but is called several different names by the press. The most common name of the project is still "PAGCOR City".

Four Integrated Resort projects have been selected by Pagcor to begin construction on phase I of Pagcor City[2]. They are

Genting Berhad of Malaysia in a joint venture with Alliance Global Group Inc.
SM Investments Corp. in a tie-up with Asia Pacific Gaming Corp. of Australia
Aruze Corp. of Japan in a tie-up with its partner Wynn Resorts of Las Vegas
Bloombery Investments of the British Virgin Islands

The Bagong Nayong Pilipino is set to rise on a stretch of prime reclaimed land between Roxas Boulevard and the panoramic Manila Bay. It is easily accessible from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), seaports, as well as the major commercial and urban centers.

The project will be divided into specialized areas which will feature: first-class theme hotels, amusement parks, educational and cultural complexes, shopping malls, a commercial district, sport stadia, restaurants, convention halls, state-of-the-art theaters, gaming centers, race tracks, residential villages, a hospital district, and other facilities at par with international standards.

One of the much-awaited highlights of the project is the transfer of the Nayong Pilipino Park to the site as one of the project's first locators. The Nayong Pilipino is a unique, interactive educational park featuring miniature versions of renowned Philippine tourist attractions. It showcases the country's rich cultural and historical heritage as well as true-to-life depictions of its natural and made-made wonders.

It is along this model that PAGCOR is envisioning the implementation of the Bagong Nayon Pilipino-Entertainment City Manila to establish the Philippines as the new entertainment capital of Asia.

In the face of growing competition in the region, this project will be the Philippines' edge over the developments happening in other countries such as Singapore, Macau, Thailand, Hong Kong
