are you serious? Japan is so perverted. it's not "taboo". it's taboo to talk about it in public but in private...dude, they read porno on trains for god's sake and its normal. they have naked pictures of britney spears on their walls in public areas...
as for asian communites....the younger generation is looser.

i guess, i just come from a really traditional family... either that or they just dont like me :(
everything i know about my body, sex etc. i had to find out thru the internet or friends.

i'm in college, and i'm exposed to people all over the world, and its amazing how people are really loose.

Usually the older ones find it a taboo and would smite you if you were to talk about it openly but nowadays the younger generation although not all, are becoming more open about it in Asia. It's become a casual topic so to speak.. though first you should get to know the person before opening this type of topic to anyone because some are still traditional in their thinking and might just become awkward around you.

i knew what it ws wen i was younger than 6 yrs old.. haha... well, as a filipino, i know that many of us are very conservative, and its kinda a fab lying that you dont know, and if you say you know, you will be like a social outcast... but i dont know, thats how i felt... XD.. yes, and sex is considered as NOT a good topic, so if you talk about it, you will seem as a freak, so nobody should talk about it, or youll be a social outcast, and since people in philippines, mostly my family anf families around me, think of each other's social statuses, and talking bout "sex" is not a good thing... dot dot dot.. and also, filipinos, are very religious, and listens well to the papal, and when the papal, says NO Perverts, there shall be NO perverts, unless, if a person is a super pervert and not religious, or maybe that person is just crazy...

it's a taboo if you're not married.. sex is forbidden by moral codes and religion. Of course when they knew that you committed fornication, adultery, they'll think you as a slut or something disastrous

Sex should be taboo. If everyone participated in trying to keep their children sheltered then rape and teenage pregnancy would both be cut down. But, alas, they will not, and thus I say inforn your children.

As far as Chinese culture, well I wonder if it has anything to do with over population? I wouldn't know. It's taboo in American culture simply because of the religious influence on our society. This being said, I've known what sex was for most of my life (It was....sort of, knowledge I was -forced- to learn, you know, when I was very young.) and I'm not screwed up and sick. Quite contrary, I'm a cluts when it comes to females, and plan to keep my virginity to have something to share with my wife.

Do I think that sex outside of marriage is wrong? Religiously, yes. Politically, yes. Socially, yes. Logically, under some circumstances.

P.S: When I say inform the brats, I don't mean when they're five. Try about when they hit puberty. That's usually a good time.

Then little kids grow up sheltered, and not aware of the world. I also dount rape would stop even THEN. Not onforming people about would make the amout of teenage pregnantcies go up.

um... maybe way way back it was, but not now. i mean everyone's at least had the "talk" back then too. beacuse how else would we be here?! asian society has woken up already from those weird traditions to keep things secret from children
im asian and i knew about it since like 3rd grade. but it's not like your going to sit there and talk to your family about having sex either.
when you learn about sex it just depends on how your family raised you, and the turth is everyone probably has some kind of idea about it by the time they reach middle school nowadays. it's kindof weird for me to know someone that dosen't know about it, even though they're not all willing to tell you.
