If they can afford to buy the tool to make animation, why they can't do lipsync. You just need to draw and work more with the timing. You know to make an animated movie, they worked for years. I don't think anime studios are poor, just licensed their animes, and they will get more money. Disney copyrighted their animations. But people already satisfy with today's animes, so yeah... Today's Disney looks bad, because, they r struggling with the story.... IMO
1. You can license ideas for a Anime you make, but who will buy a license for a unfinished maybe unpopular series, that has yet to be tested in a market?
2. Most anime studios work on a very veryvery, did I mention very yet? fixed budget. If you draw any at all, right away you know what I am talking about, lip movements are very precise, very detailed, very time consuming work, now draw that 28x for every sec, and being lips will be moving a lot you can't reuse that work to the same degree as most any thing else.
3. There is anime out there that have I say even better lip/mouth movements, then Disney, they are usually backed by big studios like Sony Pictures Entertainment, such as Paprika. I would love to see a story line from Disney match such a movie. Heck I would love to see the same detail of the background from Disney. Disney is really out of stories, they just keep making "25th anniversary remakes". How many different versions of 101 dalmatians are there now, which is the same movie just in a different package?
I grew up with Disney and now im stuck on Anime but if i really had to choose i would say Anime
