Halloween will never die...at least not until I've dressed up as every character from Alice in Wonderland and find another excuse to wear fishnet stockings.

haha. You can dress up as other disney princesses if you havent yet.

I've dressed up as the ones worth dressing up as which sums up to Bell.

I did forget her actually but it's been so long since I've seen the movie.

i remember when the point of Halloween was being scary and creepy looking, now people just go out dressed as princesses

It's a shame, Halloween was my favorite holiday as a kid by far.

I guess people are just too worried about something bad happening to their children so they find alternatives to trick or treating or don't participate at all.

In my town it is still around, but not a lot in my neighborhood, just in a few suburban middle class neighborhoods where the community is more organized. Parents tend to take the kids to those neighborhoods to trick or treat instead of their own.

No way. At least not for me. I'm going to cosplay as GIntoki or katsura next year. I'll be 19 but so what, it's always fun to get together with friends or family and trick or treat.

I've been told the a few reasons why Halloween isn't as
popular is because people are not having as many kids
as they did before and some adults are to busy with work
to think about Halloween.

Also think about it, would you really let complete strangers
give candy to your kids? My mom used to say that back in the day
you knew your neighbors, but nowadays we don't really bother
meeting them. For example I've lived in a apartment complex for
about two years and I've never met whoever lives directly in front of me.

People are just to busy and aren't as close
as they used to be. That's my opinion.

I blame Dateline NBC. Nowadays parents are afraid their kid will get poisoned, or raped, or hit by a drunk driver or something along those lines. It is still prevalent and regardless of wether there are trick or treaters adults will ALWAYS have parties for Halloween. what better excuse is there to get dressed up and wasted?

not likely. it's a multi billion dollar industry annually.

When you start cosplaying, Halloween starts to lose its significance.

i still love halloween, and dressing up to go trick or treating. people never suspect that im in my 20s. hahaha

Yup, I can also get away with trick or treating. That's one of the benefits of looking younger.

Anyway, where I live Halloween has definitely NOT died down. And there's always West Hollywood. Cosplay and free candy make Halloween my favorite holiday.

Kids are too soft these days to walk around in the cold and rain wearing thin, soggy costumes.

Haha, I doubt kids are going to let a day of free candy and dressing up die out. I personally haven't celebrated since I was 12 just because I never feel like spending the money to go out and get a nice costume. That and there's always the leftover candy anyways.
