well Halloween died for me when it stopped being about sweets and dressing and just an excuse for people around my end to demand money of complete strangers and not even try to make an effort also it isn't really a safe activity no more in today's society.

yeah I think that because off all the safety issues, there are less children "trick-or treating".
That being said, lots of kids in my community attend the big Mall family events where it is just families in one environment and it is safer.
Also, we go to large halloween parties every year, so while Trick-or-Treating may be over, haloween and dressing up and going to parties will never die off I think

Arn't we the funny one.

ahahahahhaha, ! sounds bout right.

it's not really dead around where I'm from. the more ghetto part of town parents are working at night or their just too tired.
around here some kids are getting smarter by just buying a shit load of candy at 50% off nov 1st.
same idea goes for the parents.
it was more of a social event back in the days, now who needs those social events? we got the world wide web on our pc/ laptop/ phones/ tablets/ tv . who needs to go out to socialize!?

I remember when I was little, people would actually make little haunted houses in their garages for all the kids to go in. And lot's of houses were actually decorated, plus nowadays people give like 1 piece of candy. Back them I was able to fill 3-5 bags of candy. Oh yeah & a few years ago I tried trick or treating & some lady gave me an apple.... no candy.

Not soon enough. Just open any new manual of Federal regulations and/or mandates. Scary is too benign a descriptor.
