Country: USA
Style: Muay Thai, Hung Ga, Karate (Black Belt 10th dan), and all sorts of mixed martial arts I picked up over the years.
I do not hold on to one specific style anymore. Muay Thai is my main style overall but it was self thaught and same goes for Hung Ga. I just practice martial arts for self defense and from how I see it, it's always better to end the fight in one strike than to prolong it. I still oblige by the rule when sparring though lol

Learning self-defense

I recently got into martial arts. Before I never used to like sports much and now I can't help but regret these 17 years of my life wasted. My father also taught me boxing. I am training hard, though, to try to overcome my pathetic life before starting to take sports seriously.

Learned boxing in an run down building in iraq. A fellow soilder showed me how to box on his off time. After I was done with my duties and missions i would go work out alot. Boxing was part of my workout and kept me from going crazy in war. Later return to Germany and enter a boxing contest and won first place in my weight class. Now in the U.S. holding another boxing contest real soon. AIMING FOR THE WORLD!! I just made that nickname up just a few seconds ago. Name: King
Age: 21 (2009 now 22)
country: Philippines originated.. now in USA
experienced. I don't believe in coining the term style.. but disciplines..
I've been doing kungfu for awhile, did judo for 2 and a half years.. but didn't like the rules of use.. before joining judo.. I trained with friends, and were shown a few things from ppl while training, learning mma..which i believe can help be in use of selfdefense.. I took wingchun for 8 years.. but not from a class but a man from the streets..which I'm looking for right now..
and i enjoy training with the kids.. in selfdefense and how to fight in a school near me.. so now..

I'm learning the key concepts.. and training hard until they are in mushin.. in no thought.. in such pure form of self expression.. it has even affect my way of living.. ffrom oopeing doors.. to thinking about my existence.. how the use of a form.. is in its usefullness, and the duality of no form.. destroying and rebuilding myself ..day after day.
for the answer i've sought for all my years.. why am I here? and as a martial artist.. learn thing outside the war arts, and to the living..
the meditation of living... th middle path.. the path to a higher living.. startingg like everyone else here.. from the no belt.. just me..
just who I am.. so I train, and living.. in zen.. in realization.. in essence you read here..

you will learn the first thing.. to stand

hello everyone.

my name is chelsea, i am 15.
i first got interested in martial arts when i was 5. i started with tae kwon do, i took private lessons so i dont have an official belt or anything like that. later i found a kung fu & kickboxing class, i graded in kung fu first and mostly concentrated on kung fu, recieved a yellow sash but then the kung fu lessons stopped and my instructors now only teach kickboxing, of course this is really annoying for me but it wasn't my instructors fault, it was our organisation's so my instructors created their own organisation with their own name and stuff but havent started the kung fu lessons again and only teach kickboxing. so i stayed with my instructors and the same class and i am currantly a brown & white belt in kickboxing.
a teacher at my school knows muay thai, (he trains with shaun boland) and he gives us random muay thai and self defence lessons if we have free time.

so yeah thats a little about me, i guess you could ask if you wante to know more
