you should be able to choose, but if you have no chance then it should be put into practice

For patients who become unable to make decisions about their care, self-determination is possible through the use of advance directives. These are written instructions that outline individuals' desires regarding care should they become unable, as the result of illness or injury, to make these decisions. There are two major forms of advance directives: (1) Durable power of attorney for healthcare (which means the individuals designate specific people to act on their behalf if they become unable to make health care decisions.) (2) Living will (this document outlines an individual's wishes regarding the type and extent of care to be given.) ~~~~ (p.71, M., Joyce & H., Lee) -- based on U.S. HealthCare System

My class was just talking about this last Friday, in fact, there was a man way back who was arrested and sent to jail because he killed his disabled child. When he was released, he said he didn't regret killing his extremely disabled daughter because he claimed that "She wanted to die. And it killed me that she was suffering so." Euthanasia is a very controversial thing, argued about if it should be right or not numerous times, I think its "right" somehow. But if euthanasia was to be made legal, then thats just saying a certain kind of murder is legal. Some people might abuse that law and intentionally kill someone who was disabled with that as a excuse.

Well, I feel that if someone is suffering daily with a slim to none chance of getting better it would be a lot better to end their suffering. My class a couple years ago also heard about the man who killed his disabled child. She often had seizures, apparently had the mentality of a three month old and also needed some sort of amputation (I think for her legs) if that were my child I would not want her to have to live her entire life like that.

It depends. =/ It's positive most of the time though, I mean.. It'd suck like heck to have to live as a vegetable for the rest of your life.

Or something along the lines of that. =]

This is a really hard topic, but I guess..

I'll go with pro. Especially in seemingly hopeless vegetable cases (eg Terri Schiavo case).
No argument. Completely personal preference.

well,i think it's agreeable if it's something we ourselves would agree to be put through in a helpless situation, you could save lives by donating organs too

I remember one anime movie about this incident... Black Jack: 2 doctors of darkness...

Black Jack, for those who havn't heard about it, is the world most miraculous doctor and can cure any sickness... he story is like this... He met another illegal doctor. That doctor is in charge on giving his patient... Painless death... Euthanaisa.

This story is very acton pack, as well as hard debate about Euthanasia.

In my opinion, I say it is a go-go for Euthanasia. All thanks after I watch this movie... Available in Crunchyroll.

I'm for it.....pple have wills or signed a DNR/DNI so that if they go into cardic arrest, there is nothing we can do. If a person is terminally ill, the the only thing that can be done is to make them as comfortable as possible until they die. If they want to die, let them die....

I am for euthanasia because I personally would kill you off if I could, leaving me hooked up to life-support. I say, let all death be the way it should be.

in my opinion, it should be allowed.

although, yes, it may seem like we are taking away the patients' life, but let's think of it as relieving their long suffering and pain.
i'm not saying that their life are not valuable, but it's just that, how can you say life is precious to them if they cant live it to the fullest and have to suffer so much?

whats the use of a tired good for nothing sickly person???
me issh PRO!! ahah!!
dun wanna waste my sum. yeah, my heart will break if this certain person leaves..but really, death comes only once, sooner than later, after his funeral, everything will be the same as it has always been.. lol. then, then.. i bet all terminally ill patients (to w/c for sure, if he can get out of the hospital alive, will still be useless! lol),, are tired to live, and if they could spill a word, they'd say, "KiLL ME!! oh, just kiLL me!"
AHHAHAHHA!!!
ooppss.. my opinion!~
