Let us say for the moment that I admit that there is a god of some sort. I would like you to give me your arguments for Christianity, and not just for deism. My question is: are there any good arguments for this religion above all others? It just seems like you all make deist arguments, and well those would never convert me to Christianity. One thing though....arguments based on how you have felt god mean nothing, as hoe can your feelings mean anything to me?

Don't get offended! I am just curious as to the reasons for your belief.

1st off I am a little confues by the term deism. I worship the Lord for many resonse but big one is, beause his plan is simple. You belive he died and took your sins with him in death. And that he rose again from the dead defeeting sin and the devil. All you have to do is believ the contens of the last 2 sen. He takes care of the rest. He made it simple, man tries to make it hard

Deism is a belief that there is a god, but that god has does nothing on Earth. A far away deity whose nature we can not be sure about. When you make an argument such as the cosmological argument (that the universe has to have a creator) you do nothing to convince me to convert to Christianity. The only thing such arguments can do is lead me to deism. The problem with believing those two sentences of yours is that there is no evidence to support either one as being accurate. I made this thread so that I could see what arguments you have for Jesus, and Christianity. FYI The bible says it so it must be true is not a valid argument.

Surrived viet nam, 2 car ax, finding the perfect wife for me, surriving a almost divors and many other things (Good and Bad) that show a loving hand guilding me to NOW.

^^^^What is your basis for attributing any of those things to the Christian god? Atheists and agnostics have done all those things.

lol oniichan he's basically asking "why Jesus?" ^_^...Well to tell you the truth there are many reasons and different people are going to give you different but very related answers. The thing about Christianity is that it's truly indescribable! I could blabber on and on for ages about why Jesus is the true king and you would never really understand until you tried to experience it for yourself. Really I'm not kidding...try finding some good Christian friends that you could go to church with or even read the Bible .

In reality no argument we give you will change you mind. It's really up to you to decide if you care enough to give it a shot. God loves you more than anyone else does. So much that he sent his son to die for you. No amount of historical evidence will change your mind until you decide that your serious about this.

From a more logical aspect:
A lot of people know that Jesus hung on the Cross in order to save mankind but not many people go deeper than that. Jesus is the ONLY one(out of all religions) that died for the remission of our sins. Christianity is just a word! In reality a Christian is a person that is seeking a deeper relationship with God through his son Jesus. For a way better explanation try these websites ^_^..

It's historically proven that Jesus did live and die but many still refuse his teachings.

On a personal note:
In my mind there is no doubt about Jesus being the only way to God and to salvation. Why? Because I've experienced his love and his grace way too often in my life to deny his love for me.
I've never told you guys this but my family is from a part of the world where Christianity used to be frowned upon. If people converted to Christianity they were often disowned by their parents and kicked out into the streets by their loved ones where they lived in poverty struggling to survive just because they found their true creator. Others were killed or severally punished for even mentioning Jesus to others. I promise you that no one goes through trials like this just for the fun of it...If people weren't absolutely sure that Jesus was the true son of God then they wouldn't have gone through all that trouble.
Also if you want physical proof even nowadays there are many miracles that happen in the name of Jesus. I personally witnessed a handicapped/paralyzed man being healed and walking for the first time in years. There have also been thousands of people led to Christ that were instantly delivered from drug addictions and even terminal illnesses.

I'll continue this later I'm really sorry but I have church in the morn. ^_^

That is logicially flawed. Just because it is unique does not mean it is true. I can invent a religion that is the ONLY one where you are saved by eating Fruit Loops, but that does not make my religion true.

I can name similar stories for Muslims etc. That proves nothing to me. Also personal religious feeling means nothing to me. How can I feel your feelings?

Why not just read the bible and research everything written in there...the historical books for example...you can find things that can be proven that it happened scientifically...the fact that you lived...breath see everything...isn't that magnificent??...believing in a God that created everything...the fact that Christianity is the biggest religion of all....does that mean that none of the Christians believed in the power of Jesus Christ? Of course they believe in it and have experienced God's power...and one thing....in Christianity..relationship with God is what is important...not religion or religious practices..good works etc...

Before I give YouAreDumb an answer, I have a question. Are you truely seeking answer for your question, or are you just trying to argue with us?

like i said if you really wanted to be convinced you would try and find answers for yourself instead of trying to prove others wrong. If you were really worried about your future after death it wouldn't matter if I was right or wrong...All that would matter is that I told you everything I could in order to help you make the right decision. I know that I am guaranteed an eternity with my savior who sacrificed his life for mine.

He knows my name, he knows my every thought, he sees each tear that falls, and he hears me when I call.

Did you even bother to look at the websites i posted? If you really want to know more about Jesus feel free to pm me. God BLess.

Here's what our dearest Faeleia had to say: ^_^

Every other religion requires of the believers to sacrifice some way or another. You will never find a religion where God sacrifices for man, loves us and tells us to wait until God makes the enemies their footstool in Christ.

Let me say this to the group. Don't try to convert someone to score 'brownie points'.

Rather, pray to God for a way how. If he uses you, it'll be better than trying yourself. It's not about works. Pleasing God is not about works. Works is important, we have to serve his ministry. But works makes no significant difference in your relationship with God. Sinning will not get you out of fellowship with God the same way doing good works will not get you closer to him. We are blessed because of who we are in Christ. Receiving the gift of Jesus is putting us in Christ.

Rather than believing whether there is a god or not and whether he is the right one, the more important issue is accepting Jesus and his finished work or not.

My mind tells me though that your religion is false. If I rely on myself everything in me points me to athiesm as the only logical answer.

You don't get it. I read the bible , and I prayed. No matter what I do my faith is not popping into existence out of nowhere. I can not force myself to have faith.

I can not believe in the religion of Jesus if I do not believe in god.
