i'm so happy you made this thread!!! i've been trying forever to find good romance mangas with strong heroines.
they dont' have to be a total kick-butt feminist, but i just want them to be less stupid and annoying....

i pretty much have the sAme problem like u since i h8 those weak girls in mangas theyre just kinda pathetic lol anyways u shud check these out ( btw they r not in any kind of order im just typing them as i remember )

1- crimson hero (its about a girl who loves volleyball though it may sound a bit too sporty which is something i dnt like it was worth it! nd the romance is amazing)

2-otokame beads club (shes really aggresive though she wants a girls normal skool life...um im not sure if this is wats it about cuz i 4got )

3- hot blooded woman (now this one is plain heroic she a gangster though i kind of got bored halfway through it so i stopped but u shud give it a shot =) )

4- reaching you ( i adore this manga! its a bout a girl whos soo scary nd unsociable nd ppl dnt even dare to approach her except one guy..nd this one doesnt have any aggressiveness in it but its still a cool romance manga to read )

5-Koibana! Koiseyo Hanabi : again im not sure if this shud be considered as aggressive or anything but the heroine in this one is prett interesting since she despises guys!!! at all!!! soo ya it has a nice plot to it

waddup everyone!!! been busy and dead tired lately. I've read MUGEN SPIRAL as suggested by many in here and I absolutely loved the FLUFF!!! made me go doki-doki even though it was short but at least it didnt become a drag like most good manga's out there particulary shoujo ne?

Had my eyes on Afterschool Nightmare...its mysterious, not that shoujo but it gets in your head. The lead role belongs to a guy not entirely a guy coz his lower half is of a girl. INTERESTING ne? check it out!

ah! it's been so long since I've visited this forum and it actually looks like a few that I haven't read yet have been added!

I'm trying to figure out what the title of a manga is... it's about a really small girl with super-strength that goes to work at a bakery.... does this sound familure to anyone? it seemed to be decently popular a few months ago...

Mostly everyone above me has recommended the mangas that I want to recommend but I'll add a few:

the change(the changelings) - it's probably a typical gender bender manga where the sister and brother switch their roles, but still it's pretty entertaining and I can't wait for what comes next!
princess resurrection - the main character is a really strong princess! She's awesome!
1/2 prince - here's the summary:
It is the year 2100A.D., humans have developed a virtual reality game. Feng lan, due to a bet with her brother, vows to beat the game without using her "female benefits". Due to this, she becomes the first transgendered character in "Second Life". As her infamy rises as a blood thirsty warrior, can she keep her game identity a secret from her real life acquaintances whom she has beaten to pulp?

Don't let the summary put you off(if it does), this really is an awesome manga - it's really funny, got a tinge of romance and every main character is really awesome in their own way! Check it out!!!

Also, I was wondering, should I read kaze hikaru? I've heard it was good but still....

the heroines are so NOT weak! ^^

Actually, that "ditzy" Nana becomes stronger and more mature later in the series, while the "strong" Nana gets weaker, emotionally unstable, and jealous (in a bad way).

And yes, NANA is highly recommended.
