My alma mater allows Homosexual couples to be at Prom?

I went to the meeting and ask what if they kiss? The Homosexual that lead the idea said "So what?"
I said "Some people would be frowny."
The Homosexual said "Again so what?"
I wanted to say "People may puke"

The school I do my teaching at does not allow Homosexuals at Prom but they dont insist opposite sex couples walk in the door.
"Doom will befall the school district from this Wicked idea."

So knowing what I think what do you think?

Prom is more about tradition in my opinion. Traditionally, boys do not go out with boys

Well, sheesh. Talk about narrow-minded. Why not just reject gay students from the school all-in-all if they aren't allowed to go to prom with their significant other? That's both insulting to the homosexuals and isn't a really nice thing to support in a school which is a place of learning. If gays have the right to an education, I think they should have the right to go prom with their fellow gay.

Besides, that's just stupid. Unless it's a Catholic School. But even so, my Catholic school doesn't mind gays. =/

EDIT: BEEEESIDES, kissing should be done in private. PDA is awkward to me, no matter what your sexual orientation is.

I don't agree with the act of homosexuality, but this is a tough one.

Though, I think they're breaking the no PDA rule that most schools have by kissing in public.

frankly, i dont like watching anyone doing an impression of mating snails. whether it be a man and a woman, two women, or two men. its just not something you watch. you get on with what your doing.

In an ideal world, they should be allowed.. they were at my schools end prom. Its a bit surprising if you didn't realize , but i got over it a few seconds later. What does it matter?

However... if this a place where homosexuality is frowned upon, banning them at the prom is probably doing them a favour. not causing them to get bullied, if they're unknown, and not forcing them, to be worried over going to the prom.

They pretty much have any right to,

that would discrimination.

I spent more then half an hour making out on a couple chairs with my gf at my senior prom. I don't have a problem with it whether its done by strait or homosexual couples. You don't have to look at them, I mean idk about other proms, but every one I've gone to has been dark and loud enough for me to easily ignore who I wanted.

*edit* Oh and the OP sounds a bit like a bigot.

Of course they should be allowed. And if not then straight couple shouldn't be allowed either.

Just so you know 90% of pedophiles are STRAIGHT man, so may be straight man shouldn't be allowed to go to prom or kiss their girlfriends?
