I wasn't much of a gamer back in the Dreamcast days. I was mostly a casual gamer, so I've never experienced the Dreamcast. What I do know, though, is that Sega had some great games that I never got the chance to experience (except for sequels and some remakes). The Dreamcast even brought a lot of new innovative things to gaming. Analog control (I think), a built in modem for online gaming, and support for a rumble pack. And a microphone.

Sega had good ideas good hardware. They just didn't weren't so good with their execution, and were overshadowed by Sony and the PS2. I hadn't even heard about the Dreamcast until after it's downfall, mostly because the PS2 was the big new thing.

I still play it every now and then. Games like Zombie Revenge. Power Stone, and Dead Or Alive. It was fun.

systems i had in order: genesis-ps1-ps2-xbox-360 i loved my genesis, but i never had a confident feeling about dreamcast so i didn't get it. if sega was still making consoles then i would buy the newest one, but sadly they died w/ dreamcast. now i wonder if i should get a ps3. ps1and2 were great but i dunno about ps3. too expensive for my blood.

The only reason I don't play Dreamcast anymore is because my brother gave all his games to someone and he forgot who it was and/or doesnt care. :\

^^That sux BK. It happened to me too

I would like to see a Panzar Dragoon game for the Wii. I think that game would be awesome because of the motion control. To be able to move your dragons with the wiimote, man that would be sweet.

The SD was pretty awesome imo....i mean i honestly think the controller was the selling point for me as a kid...it just looked so crazy compared to other systems....and i do believe SD was the first system i ever played online with (which was SFAII)!?

Skies of Arcadia
SFA III
Time Stalkers
House of the Dead (with light gun)
NFL 2K1
I think i remember seeing even Half-Life for the SD but never played or bought it.
Bomberman
Unreal Tourn.
Capcom VS SNK
Shenmune I&II

Worst game on the SD- Typing Of The Dead.......yea it's as bad as it sounds

EDIT- I would honestly Trade my PS3 right now for a Dreamcast and the games i mentioned above.

I bought a dreamcast as soon as I realized all the stores were trying to get rid of them, and I think I ended up paying $50 for a brand new one.

I mainly bought it for Soul Calibur since I was spending a fortune in quarters on it in the arcade.

I really liked the Record of the Lodoss War game for it, probably one of the few well done anime games ever.

I honestly don't have too many games for it, though I do have a few.

It think the main reason it failed is because it wasn't DVD format. DVD was still a novelty at the time. It sure as hell wasn't game catalogue since the PS2 launch titles sucked. Had they waited a bit, made it DVD format, Sega might still be around today. It really was a good system regardless, pity it didn't get the opportunity to live up to it's potential.

sega live on but they are making games for the ps2 and xbox and soon xbox 360 and ps3

i thought the dreamcast went under cuz the CEO of sega died or something? the dreamcast would never lose to something as puny as ps2. it was way ahead of our time like seriously. it had internet capabilities waaay before ps2 released FFXI w/ the internet pack thingy. AND u could actually BROWSE the web which you still cant do in any of the systems now. and they had mouse/keyboard available for gameplay n they had tons of online games like Quake/Unreal. plus they released quite a few groundbreaking games so i dont know it would have lost to the ps2 like Shenmue and Seaman (Lol)

My brother had over 100 burnt Dreamcast games and a handful of ones he purchased. Those were a couple of fun summers where my siblings and I would just play against each other all night.

I'm still waiting for Shenmue 3.

Yes......I must see what happens next. Shenmue 2's ending was such a cliff-hanger. >_<

dude the dreamcast disc only hold 1.5GB capacity. PS2 DVD Disc can hold 9.0 GB Capacity.
I would say the ps2 own the dreamcast right there. the PS2 graphic are more amazing and impressive.
Sonic PS2 vs Sonic Dreamcast.

The current Sega is but a pale dim shadow of what they once were... Sega died to me as soon as Sonic appeared on a nintendo system.

That's the game that's like a House of the Dead typing tutor?
I thought that looked fantastic.

It may look fantastic but the gameplay sucks hard. Do you really want to kill zombies by having to type down words? I'd rather use the analog sticks to shoot them down, but that's just me.
