Kishimoto has stated that he would add romance in the second installation of Naruto (shippuden). As from what im hearing, is that Kishi is having a hard time with it. I dont necessarily think its writing romance that is tough for him (any fool can write romance), but maybe when to do it, and the whole NaruHina, NaruSaku situation must be tough too. But who he pairs up is definitly on the hush, hush!!!!

Sakura + Lee's children: Ugly as hell, have helmet-hair, weird eyes, really bold personality. Sakura + Sai's Children: Albino skin, don't show their true feelings

Also, for Naruto to keep up the "selfless hokage" thing, it'd make more sense for him to be left single. Like, he's married to everyone, kind of.

He's SUPPOSED to be alone, it's a symbol in the story. People just don't pay attention, they're too concerned with shipping fanservice :\| I mean, no doubt romance adds interest to the story, but like... it's not the main focus.
