The title already is good enough because it's original and no-one would think of it! And Cross Grave would be the greatest second opinion to me....

i just dont get it why D.Gray-Man is the title of this anime xD
what does it mean anyway?

if u would like to change it .
what would it be?!

for me Innocence is the best suited . . .

If i didn't recall wrongly - the title was related to an English writer named Dorian Grey. Quoting from wikipedia's description of Earl of Millennium & Dorian Gray:

"Hoshino says she based the Earl of Millennium off a legendary alchemist/preacher (most likely the Count of St Germain or Nicolas Flamel, though in many ways he also reminiscent of Dorian Gray, possibly referenced in "Dorian Grey man" and thus "D.Gray-Man", as adapted in the film The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen)"

"Realising that one day his beauty will fade, Dorian cries out, wishing that the portrait Basil has painted of him would age rather than himself. Dorian's wish is fulfilled, subsequently plunging him into a series of debauched acts. The portrait serves as a reminder of the effect each act has upon his soul, with each sin being displayed as a disfigurement of his form, or through a sign of aging."

So do you see the link between the manga's akumas and Dorian Gray? hope that answers your qns. =D

the forum link below has a similar topic with their own interpretion of the manga name. link: http://mangahelpers.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-882.html

i see. ..
so that's why. . .
thx BTW

None of the options in the poll are suited to be the new title.

But I don't think there are any connections with the anime and "D. Gray Man"

If I had to say, D. Gray Man is an excellent title, though there are 0 connections, it rhymes with the anime, however if I was the maker, I would say B.0 (Black Order)

*Innocence* That's just like a spoiler. Doesn't fit.
*Cross Grave* That's ALLEN'S special attack. Doesn't cover the whole thing.
*Exorcists, millenium, akuma* whatthe? r u telling to spoil the story?

DGM has no connections and just fits so it attracts ppl. They should NEVER change the title. It's cool.

Funky punctuation, bizarre historical-figure references, weird spelling - I think the name is perfect the way it is, personally ~ <3
It's nice when the name has originality without sacrificing its dignity as well.
