I'm somewhat Catholic (I really need to go to church more often). My mother was raised Franciscan, so I've been able to see the softer side of the church, which has kept me from being afraid of it.

The fact that the Catholic church has its own military force worries me .

Surely the Swiss Guard's only tactics are to not kill and to turn the other cheek. These were laid down by their god and don't give much wiggle room when it comes to alternate interpretations.

The Swiss Guard are mercenaries and may not have the same beliefs as those who employ them.

From Wikipedia

The guards must be Catholic, unmarried males with Swiss citizenship who have completed basic training with the Swiss military and can obtain certificates of good conduct. New recruits must have a professional diploma or high school degree and must be between 19 and 30 years of age and at least 174 cm (5'9") tall[3].

Alright I have a question for all the Catholics in the house:

Do Catholics consider themselves to be Christians? I've had a lot of debates regarding this, all against Catholics.

Yea, Swiss because a neutral nation must protect him, or so I've heard.
